Always is Argy :-) I can't comment on EK's record as I have not followed him that much and as a rule taken no notice of his shorts. I thought TW has a fair record but yes he has not always been right.

More directly on AVN the people that have tipped is surely much greater than those for selling.

Directors Shareholdings

Avanti Communications Group plc (AIM: AVN), the broadband satellite operator, was today notified by John Brackenbury, Chairman, that he had purchased 8,998 ordinary shares in the Company at a price of 549.75 pence per ordinary share. John Brackenbury now holds a total direct and indirect voting right interest in 321,889 ordinary shares in the Company, being approximately 0.38% of the issued ordinary share capital of the Company.

The Company was also notified today by David Williams, CEO, that he had purchased 17,997 ordinary shares in the Company at a price of 549.75 pence per ordinary share. David Williams now holds a total direct and indirect voting right interest in 1,505,072 ordinary shares in the Company, being approximately 1.77% of the issued ordinary share capital of the Company. Mr Williams has a further revocable and indirect interest in 522,233 ordinary shares under the Company's Long Term Incentive Plan which are subject to certain criteria.

Given EK's recent track record in shorting ASOS, where prior to his most recent short ( also wrong so far) he has lost in excess of 250k perhaps he may also be wrong here. That said TW does not have the greatest of track records, outside of gold & silver shares, with many very embarrassing mistakes. Perhaps DYOR is best remembered.

He clearly does not understand the technology or more to the point technology. It sounds as if he is relying on someone else and clearly they don't either.

Simon ... in the world of broadband reselling 10mb does not = 10mb, so you can't simply divide the total capacity of the satellite by 10mb and come up with the total number of residential customers that can be sold 10mb ... residential broadband is a pooled resource

That is laughable and rather conflicts with the £229 million of contracts Avanti has already signed.With a further £389 million in the pipeline.

Clearly they are winnig significant business and the pie is very large.
