12/11/2010 04:47 | pixi...I have considered paying a lump off the mortgage but im hoping to make enough here to pay off a bigger lump! If it all goes pear shaped I will cry a little then dust myself down and get on with it. Im far` from wealthy but losing my money here wont put me on the street!!! my biggest problem is that if all goes well here, when do you sell and what do you buy!! I guess thats everyones dilema? Would be interested to know what peoples exit point is assuming all goes well?? I really figured i would leave everything here until Hylas 2& 3 are in orbit and hope the price reaches the £20 target in a couple of years?? maybe if all goes well I should sell some and spread the risk... thanks for warnings and comments | jonnib
12/11/2010 00:54 | POG is a strong buy, undervalued, as soon as they hit a single target you wont see south of £15 as long as gold remains bullish. I also like CZA but it is a bit risky. If any one still wants my note i wrote email me @sco77harris, i apologise to anyone i havent replied to but have had some personal matters that have dogged me for several days now. Regards Scott | sco77harris
11/11/2010 19:22 | jonnib Have you considered more efficient ways of using your spare money, like paying off a mortgage or other debt? If you are interested in shares, do not invest more than you can afford to lose. I like POG because it is not firing on all cylinders regarding its production numbers, but when it gets its act together and starts meeting it's targets, it will fly. It is hovering just below the entry point to the FTSE 100 (133 at 943.50p) and will benefit from institutional buying from FTSE tracker funds when it does meet entry requirements. ABG is in a similar boat and was around No 110 at 549p. | pixi
11/11/2010 17:33 | jonnib : The term 'boiler room' is used when shares are pumped and dumped . I've used it loosely in my reference to TW because apart from pressure telephone selling tip sheets can also be used to create a false market. Believe me it does happen . Remember the dotcom bubble! Some tech shares were pumped up to £25 /£30 and then fell back to become penny stocks or go bust ! i remember a company named Innovation Technologies! That's why one has to be careful when buying into high risk say exploratory , research or hi-tech companies ..where in effect the value lies in ultimately 'obtaining the holy grail' ..so to speak. DOesn't mean to say we're not going to make a few bob out of AVN ...but BE CAREFUL. | wendsworth
11/11/2010 14:50 | no not aware thanks yorgi. Ive waited 3 years and i dont mind waiting another 2 for Hylas 2&3 and from there who knows....fingers crossed and everything else for hylas 1 on the 25th first though. | jonnib
11/11/2010 14:23 | Jonnib.....long term maybe but I'm quite sure once Hylas1 is launched and working we will move on from here. As I understand reference to "boiler room" is suggesting a scam. Scammers selling shares to unsuspecting people in companys that either don't exist or are worthless shells.......Sorry if you already are aware of that | yorgi
11/11/2010 14:17 | thanks to the last dozen or so posts for your comments and suggestions. I will definately look at the newsletter. Wendsworth..I have supported this share for a long time but my broker friend always told me these were long term three years ago when I first bought in so I was under no illusions that i would get rich quick!!I just hope its been worth the wait.....Excuse the ignorance but what do you mean by "boiler room"? | jonnib
11/11/2010 12:59 | For those concerned and questioning the value and potential of AVN with comments questioning TW whether he he is just ramping AVN (which I think is stupid view) There are other reports/notes on AVN giving more credance to the buy tip for AVN or I should say strong buy tip. We do seem to be a little stuck around this level at the moment | yorgi
11/11/2010 11:41 | I find the t1ps site a very useful starting point for my own decision making. It is a good source of infomation that is hard to find elsewhere and the analysis are ok. Not wonderful, but ok. But IMHO TW is far too dismissive of TA and tends to hang on far too long to shares that are going nowhere or losing money. If he was more inclined to cut losses earlier his performance would be very good. | meljohn
11/11/2010 11:02 | share_shark : Interesting and thoughtful response. In a way the TW tip has done me a favour in that I've adopted a more sensible approach to under-writing my AVN investment. What's important to me and my self respect is to ensure my TW misgivings are aired now rather than in a wise after the event mode ..which irritates and doesn't help anyone! | wendsworth
11/11/2010 10:52 | As suggested on other BBs - all quiet 1100-1102 today please? | ib1905
11/11/2010 10:36 | 9 trading days to go... | someuwin
11/11/2010 10:10 | colva agree as I have also been a subcriber since its inception; I also subscribe to itst sister newsletter Momentum Investor. I for one, need all the help that I can get and there are many newsletters out there that are not worth the paper they are written on. For s start most only mention their winners and never mention the many tips they give when they go down. I have to agree with you also wendsworth in your 1085; I know for a FACT that TW is best mates with a broker going by the name "Black Prince". I should know,he was my broker and lost me a HUGE amount of money.I will never be able to replace this. Whatever this is a great BB. Many thanks to you all and good luck to us and I am sure we shall all be glued to our sets(or whatever) on THE date. | share_shark
11/11/2010 10:00 | jonnib. BB mentioned the Small Company Sharewatch newsletter, i,v been a subscriber for many years and its well worth a look. I think its possible for non subscribers to read back issues on their web site. | colva
11/11/2010 09:47 | For a LESS risky option I hold BG. which seems to be lucky and well managed and is obviously vastly bigger, although it could still be take-over target for the 2 or 3 international giants. All IMHO of course DYOR. | altom
11/11/2010 09:19 | And jonnib I like NBPO for steady but strong growth and it's got an eco friendly tag too | ib1905
11/11/2010 08:24 | jonnib (1079). Maybe take a look at BRK? | m.t.glass |
