08/11/2010 14:26 | Jeffian welcome, good post and very valid points. Also i would of though it is useful for media services like the bbc, which uses satellite for certain broadcasts. 08/11/2010 14:17 | I'm a new boy here, so pleased to be corrected, but surely the answer to slapdash's concerns (939) about the HYLAS service only appealing to 'a handful of Dartmoor farmers and Scottish Highlanders' is that the company's revenues are already fairly visible (subject to successful launch/deployment!) as a result of a string of contracts with service providers? The RNS announcements for those various contracts also show that, besides just providing broadband to areas without cabling, the service is also being used to provide such things as banking/credit card connectivity (Hungary) and disaster-recovery connectivity to the corporate sector. | jeffian | |
