Quite a lot of selling today. Could be some people selling now so they do not get caught by the CGT 30 day matching rule when they reinvest after the launch.

Big drop in the share price , is it bad news or have the MM taken out a load of automatic stop losses at around the 600p level.

This could be nothing more than MM's shaking the tree in order to scare weak holders in to selling prior to launch, when they will want to have lots of shares to satisfy the buyers (assuming a successful launch!).

i have a guaranteed spread with ig, from before they stopped it, i personally wouldnt spread now g-d forbid the launch goes wrong and it dropped 300 points i would not be happy having to shell out.

Re Spreadbetting

Can anyone assist on spread betting AVN please? rang around a few spread firms today to learn that there are no guaranteed stops available on this little puppy. I want to spread bet as AVN can not be traded in my ISA.

1 Any recommendations on the best spread firm to use for AVN? I intend to hold AVN for some time.

2 What are the worse 8am spike outs that have been encounted over the last couple of months? So I can set a reasonable stop!

Sensible Advice would be appreciated for this newbie!

well i have the cash waiting to top up so the lower the better atm, below 6 and it becomes reasonably cheap again.

Interesting to see if we hold £6-it`s a long way down to £5.50. Like I said a few days ago,not so much a case of £7-£8, more a case of holding £6

Hardrider in most instances you are right, but as many of us know it is not that unusual for MM's to manipulate the share price for other reasons.....I think you will find TW was talking about this recently regarding SYM

Is any of the share price drop rub-off from the quite large disposals recently in Inmarsat? Even though they've nothing directly to do with AVN they depress the sector mood.

peedlep...if the price falls then there are more sellers than buyers. It is that simple. Buys can be displayed as sells or vice versa, large orders can be worked in the background that will not show on the time and sales data for days afterwards. The only barometer of buys vs sells is the price action. Anything else is pure speculation

The price continues to drop despite there being significantly higher percentage of buys to sells this week...strange.
