07/5/2013 11:11 | Dodge Meister and sg31, In addition to the military use of pilotless drones, this article describes the future potential use of commercial drones which are currently being test flown over UK airspace. I wonder whose is providing this satellite technology? "The project's aim is to gain the UK a strong position in a global market that could be worth $55bn-$62bn per year by 2020, according to the University of Southampton and Teal Group, a consultancy." | garymott
07/5/2013 09:20 | >Ansul Very True. I had missed that and had thought Bentley Walker was in the Eutelsat camp. If you look at the Bentley Walker web site too, they tend to avoid the use of 'Avanti' although it can be found if somewhat buried, whereas Eutelsat's Tooway brand is quite prominently used. Thank you for putting me straight. Still an Interesting article about the broader picture vis-à-vis Ka-band verses Ku-band spectrum usage. | ![]() jojaken
07/5/2013 08:49 | There's plenty of News items on google about Bentley walker using Hylas 2 as soon as it was operational. | anusol
07/5/2013 08:06 | What's particularly interesting in the article from Satellite Today is that Bentley Walker is NOT using Eutelsat's satellites. They certainly had been an earlier partner with Eutelsat with Eutelsat's Tooway solution. So has the launch of Hylas 2 meant they've jumped ships? Can't tell from just one article, but certainly raises interesting questions. Looking forward to the trading update. | ![]() jojaken
