24/4/2013 00:22 | I see you're hedging your bets on both threads, Rogk! | jeffian
23/4/2013 14:39 | Disappointed slow drift down but just about holding onto 300p floor. Does anyone know if they intend to publish a quarterly update? | anusol

16/4/2013 12:17 | One of the bears' main arguments was there would be overcapacity in the supply of satellite internet broadband services, forcing down prices to the point that the use of satellites is uneconomic. AVN is moving into cellular backhaul and has stated that this will become a large part of revenue in future. See this link for the predicted growth in internet traffic:- "Steve Unger, chief technology officer for Ofcom, says: "There are three ways to meet the demand for more data more spectrum, better use of spectrum and more cell sites. We need to progress on all three fronts, which is in effect what we mean by 5G, to meet the 80-fold increase in data usage we predict by 2030." "Data traffic over mobile devices is expected to increase globally 1,000-fold by 2020 on at least 50bn internet-capable devices, according to Professor Rahim Tafazolli, who will oversee a £35m grant from the UK government and mobile phone companies to help develop 5G mobile technologies at the University of Surrey." | garymott
15/4/2013 10:12 | CFD positions can now be opened with IG Markets in the Bitcoin currency - I think I will give that a miss, perhaps SK has some special insight of Bitcoins as well as AVN! :-) | garymott
13/4/2013 08:59 | I'll have a look, but already spread across too many stocks, but thanks. | waterloo01
13/4/2013 06:42 | Sorry o/tWaterloo01 notice we're both invested here and in summ. Just passing on a share you may want to pop in on which looks like its finally going to go cash positive in next year or so - CAP. Makes retrofit LNG engines for diesel trucks. Sales quadrupled in 2012 and the mkt finally taking off. Huge potential as it enters the US market where LNG is cheap as chips and coming out of their ears...Anyway worth 10 minutes read to anyone who likes a punt. But DyO research etc. | anusol
13/4/2013 06:18 | Last year they issued a 4 month interim statement up to 30th April, which looks like it was just to confirm on track for FY market expectations. But that was mid May.Be nice if they could do a proper Q3 update to 31st March this time but anything would be better than having to wait another 3 months to initial FYO figs. Plus a note to say where we are in terms of the full mkt listing.Got every confidence in this being a great long term steady growth stock - wish I had more to stick in at these prices. | anusol
12/4/2013 12:13 | More like a month, Waterloo, unfortunately. Like you, I too am impatient to know how AVN are doing. | jojaken
12/4/2013 09:45 | Must be due an update on sales next week. | waterloo01
12/4/2013 09:36 | can't he afford his own coffee?? | rathlindri
10/4/2013 17:54 | Peter...cynical, very cynical. It made me laugh. | sg31
10/4/2013 17:33 | Mathew - your expressed wish for fellow investors to "buy a coffee" would indicate that you have an invested interest in said cafe? | peterblok
08/4/2013 18:25 | I suppose the question is the fall based on high trading volumes? | ttny2004
08/4/2013 13:35 | That's the trouble Anu, always a buying opportunity! John | 2350220
05/4/2013 16:24 | Buying opportunity - never thought it'd drop below 300p again. Be nice to get an update on our proposed listing on the main market. | anusol
05/4/2013 13:33 | Another big drop in share price ??? | pojscott
05/4/2013 04:33 | The European space agency would appear to be using Avanti's satellites for a project to improve safety at rail crosssings. Link below for anyone versed in German. www.pressebox.de/?bo It would appear old contacts came in handy as Hylas-1 was the ESA's first public-private venture back in 2006 with the Hylas-1. Unclear of impact on revenue, if any, though. But nice to see anyway. | jojaken
01/4/2013 21:38 | Are we expecting a q1 tu? | geheimnis2
