Would you like to explain why they should lose any money in Cyprus? I expect it is a bit difficult to tell which money was given to them by the taxpayer and that which they got from other sources.
Do you have a point to make...?

Ennismore down to 1.27%. Hopefully their buying will support the share price for a while.

Isn't this just the sort of case where Hylas1 should be providing a cost-effective service?

yes, although I'm guessing a lot of these stories relate to sales made in January which were part of the initial results. Depends on the time lag between when AVN are counting these sales and when the comms people actually sell the story round the related media. You'd assume a month's delay wouldn't you? But all good here.

That's the fourth story on the Satellite Today site in the last month since the results. It would suggest the business is humming along nicely in the background even if there haven't been any press releases.

[Satellite TODAY 03-11-13] Libyan satellite provider Sana is planning to offer broadband services to businesses and government organizations that are helping rebuild Libya through the help of Avanti Communications' Hylas 2 satellite.

This is all we get !

From Evil's diary today :

Evil's positions list update.

Due to Evil's high trading frequency (and dislike of the feature) it is impossible to for us to maintain the previous long and short list accurately. However, we understand that investors want to see what Evil is currently bullish or bearish about. To please both parties we will now be maintaining a list of shares which Evil has commented on in this article in the past month.

Bullish: Leni Gas & Oil, Bowleven, Plethora Solutions, Cadiz, Kemin, FastJet, Orsu, Xcite Energy, Avesco, Totally, Afcor, Condor Gold, silver, Beximo Pharma, International Consolidated Airlines.

Bearish: Quindell Portfolio, Mulberry, Noventa, WANdisco, Rare Earth's Global, Tanfield, Range Resources, 3D Systems, Ocado, Hibu.

Count Chris, much of his case for shorting AVN has already been proven incorrect. Please see my summary in post 11883 on 18/02/13. He clearly has no integrity and so I would not expect him to announce that he is wrong on AVN.

It's more that I'd like to see Evil decide that his case for shorting is no longer valid. I know not everyone rates him but he's doing allot better than I am so If he's on the other side of a trade I'm in I have to ask myself who's most likely to be right!

On the contrary, short positions are a good thing for share holders of companies which are delivering. In effect this has increased the number of shares in issue. At any price point this means a higher market cap; for 10% short sold that means 1.1 times the nominal cap.

Shorting is only bad news for existing holders if the company is floundering or needs to raise equity. They also magnify any downward momentum, which is what we saw here after both launches.

Just so long as Avanti shows continuous revenue growth, moves to cash positive and then to profit current shorters are conscripted future buyers just waiting in the wings.

From his chat I get the impression he's probably been in and out plenty of times and that the list is more a list of potential targets than open positions. I may be wrong of course! Either way I'd be pleased to see home drop it.

I have just noticed from SC's diary he is giving his list of positions a "spring clean" and they are not showing at present. They will return on Monday it will be interesting to see if he still has AVN in his list of shorts. To the best of my knowledge he has not announced that he has closed it.
