I have just had a look as I have not been watching the trades here closely today but I see what you mean Buffaloman......I would be inclined to think if ther was anything to be concerned about we would be seeing it reflected by a far weaker share price

There seems to have been some chunky sells going through today which has pressured the price. Several lots of 15000, 20000 & 5000+. Someone seems to be placing a largish quantity - hope they don't know something!

Just sold a third my BPC holding ready to top up AVN.

Buywell - you gonna say which way?

Added at 13:34: Your post 8982 (the other side) would indicate a DROP of 50p to the 250 area or have you now changed your mind?

Still all negative but in the last 10 mins, one now flicking between negative and neutral. FWIW I think you moment of 'crisis' (relative term here) has passed. We still (as a start) need to get towards 320 and break through the top channel line - a bit like on the BPC chart above for those of you who find charts helpful . . . .

Quite true Jeffian however I do seem to recall without looking back that prior to launch of Hylas 1 we did have a RNS to say when H1 was on site and possibly another when fuelled to go..........but that may have all been in one RNS.

Also with such a dire share price performance due to "doubters" and shorters an update of take up of Hylas 1 would also be good.

You guys need to calm down a bit. It's only 5 weeks since you were told this -

"HYLAS 2 successfully completed one of its last key technical milestones, thermal vacuum testing, during the period and remains on target for a launch in the 30-day window from 30 June 2012."

What more do you need to be told? It's going up there somewhere between 30/6 and 30/7. If it wasn't, they'd have to tell you.

It would seem the share price is going to sit around the 300p area until we get something out of the BOD or if something leaks through the grapevine !

There could be a circa 50p move when this sideways action ends

My 'key' three daily tracking indicators went negative about 30 minutes ago and have stayed there. It's the first time in about 10 days all three have gone negative at the same time and stayed there for a period of time (albeit only 30 minutes - albeit only 30 mins at the moment ). It's that 300p level again.

C'mon Tim.

Thanks for that Backmarker, as we all know we now need a RNS from the BOD to the situation.

The latest we have is this:

June 14, 2012 – Ariane Flight VA208

Initial assembly of the fourth Ariane 5 for launch by Arianespace in 2012 has been completed at the Spaceport in French Guiana, marking a new milestone in preparations for a mission to loft a dual-passenger payload later in the year.

The heavy-lift Ariane 5 ECA version is located in the Launcher Integration Building, where it took shape during a multi-step process that began with positioning of the vehicle's cryogenic core stage over the mobile launch table. The two solid propellant boosters were then mated to the core stage, followed by a "topping off" installation of the cryogenic upper stage and vehicle equipment bay – which were pre-integrated as a single component.

This is the 64th Ariane 5 to take shape at the Spaceport, and will continue the cadence with Arianespace's workhorse launcher. Designated as Flight VA208 in reference to the 208th flight of an Ariane family vehicle, the launcher is to carry a two-passenger commercial telecommunications satellite payload – the primary mission application for Ariane 5.

The launch will follow Arianespace's next Ariane 5 flight (VA207), scheduled to lift off on July 5 with the EchoStar XVII high-throughput relay platform for Hughes Network Systems, and the MSG-3 meteorological spacecraft for EUMETSAT (the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites).

The VA207 flight's Ariane 5 currently is in the Spaceport's Final Assembly Building, ready for integration of the EchoStar XVII and MSG-3 satellites.

Availability of the Spaceport's separate Launcher Integration Building and Final Assembly Building facilities at French Guiana provides flexibility in Arianespace's mission processing flow, and enables two Ariane 5s to be prepared in parallel.

----------------

although it doesn't specifically say what VA208 will carry, I'm expecting
HYLAS-2 is one of the passengers.

the indications are that VA208 assembly and preparation has been going on despite the VA207 delay, so the knock-on delay to VA208 will be minimised.

of course, 14th July (le Quatorze Juillet) would be an ideal day for a launch, and what a firework it would make.

but even if VA207 goes to plan it seems to me that 9 days would not be enough of a gap.

it's remarkable that there has been no announcement about the status of HYLAS-2, particularly from AVN itself. doesn't the board care about us investors, or is there a delay that they'd rather not broadcast and are cloaking with the Echostar delay ?

Agree colva

Screenshot from about 10 mins ago:

AVN is just sideways tracking. As launch day gets nearer (and, of course, it does with each passing day) the price is likely to move forward. A 'flurry' of RNSs confirming the arrival of the satelitte, a launch date, another contract or two will each give impetus. In the meantime . . . .

OT my BPC tip is moving, SXX had a false start and is back to square one but still in the same positive frame and RENE which I've been accumulating around 3.5 and is NOT yet on my 'gonna move list' has had a lot of news flow of late with one bullish analyst target of 33p (thirty three).

It looks like the share price is hell bent on breaking the record for moving sideways, but at least its not going down. yesterday's Golden cross may generate some interest today but with the 200 day very flat it may not provide the boost we need to break out of the trading channel, but at least its a positive.
On the fundamental side , we could do with some news on the progress of Hylas2 , it doesn't seem to have arrived at the spaceport yet .

I tend to agree Colva I was expecting to have heard by now that Hylas 2 was on site and ready to go, so it is looking like later in July rather early but we will see. Not long anyway.

Just been looking at the 2012 mission updates archive .

The satellites seem to arrive on site about a month before launch but there's no mention of Hylas2 having arrived and it looks like the Ariane 5 initial build up starts about 8 wks before launch and the VA208 was started about 6th June, so i think a late July launch is probably the best we could hope for but until we get something from the BOD its just guesswork.

The date we have been given by AVN is from the 30th June, however there are some who follow sites re Ariane suggest there may be a delay. We should hear something soon from the BOD

charts looking extremely positive to me, except for volume. if we're going to make a move it ought to be in next few days or we may have another long wait.

an excellent RNS is just what is needed right now to light the blue touchpaper.
