31/5/2012 14:54 | Oh come on camlad - I think it was the concept that was being explained and I must say I've not heard of that sort of scam. The fact that it's an old article doesn't rule out it happening in the same way today, presumably by others . . . As yorgi says, 'a lot that goes on in this game that is far from straightforward'. | johncsimpson
31/5/2012 14:10 | Buywell2, that article/fine is a year old. Why is it relevant to recent trades? Camlad | camiladasi
31/5/2012 13:49 | AVN as the market overall needs new funds coming into the market and that is one of the main problems as I see it at this time. Too many are keeping their money in the bank, building society or under the mattress seeing that as the safest place. The stock market needs more money flowing in as opposed to the same amount going from stock to stock for a quick profit...........or loss as maybe the case. | yorgi
31/5/2012 13:45 | Seriously John, I'm going to suggest that we will end up the day a tad higher closer to 310p that is my prediction but that well could be a load of rubbish :-) EDIT LOL while writing that it appears to be heading up again :-) | yorgi
31/5/2012 13:43 | Yes quite so John.....so can you us how low we will go today, at what time and when we can expect a rise....:-) | yorgi
31/5/2012 13:41 | Ha ha, could have written the script Yorgi! John | 2350220
31/5/2012 13:24 | Quite possible Buywell.......one thing we all know there is a lot that goes on in this game that is far from straightforward. | yorgi
31/5/2012 13:17 | If you read his posts elsewhere, buywell has very interesting if extreme views on a range of matters. I find him well informed though only time will tell if his analysis and opinions of said 'facts' (or even some of them) is going to prove correct. Added - reply given; thank you, will read . . . | johncsimpson
31/5/2012 13:12 | Thanks, Buywell2. Will read the link | ae34
31/5/2012 13:10 | Hmmm...Looking a bit like your fear coming to fruition again John. I do believe the main problem here is the same as with many companies and that is lack of new funds coming into the market. As has been commented many times before as proof in the way of numbers comes through we will then see the reward for our patience. | yorgi
31/5/2012 13:04 | No probs re being nosey - nice to have a 'conversation' with someone who hopefully isn't going to take me to task. I was a witness for the prosecution in a fraud case relating to a business I sold when I early retired in 2005 / 6. The 'company accountant' (bit of a grand title) of the business I sold to had (among other things) misappropriated commissions due to myself (circa £2.5k but only one part of the bigger picture in the fraud case). For some reason, CPS were prepared to fly me to the UK, pay all expenses including three nights stay in Nottingham, to give what amounted to twenty minutes evidence. Late Tuesday afternoon, the jury found the defendant guilty. She gets sentenced later next month. Whilst I'm here, AVN has this morning shown a wee bit of positive intraday movement which (at the moment) has pushed the MACD in a slight upwards direction i.e. heading back towards the zero line. But it may not stay like that and would take very little to 'level' it back down; it needs other confirmation before I would suggest it was in true reverse. I'm expecting an initial upward move in the price (not necessarily the MACD) from Monday of next week and if my judgement proves correct and all being well I will be re-buying / adding later this week - i.e. tomorrow. Added - Wack wack ooops. It's Bank Holidays next week so clearly the price won't move anywhere on Monday or Tuesday either. Downside of living abroad where bank holidays are different . . . | johncsimpson
31/5/2012 12:42 | I'm still waiting for Buwell2's explanation of all the small trades. Would be interested to understand what he thinks it means. | ae34
31/5/2012 11:20 | John, I agree with you most strongly :-) Colva, whether I have explained it clearly and exactly as I was informed I'm not sure but that was pretty much it and it made sense to me :-) | yorgi
31/5/2012 11:17 | Yorgi , seems very plausible , unlike some of the MM conspiracy theories i'v heard. | colva
31/5/2012 11:11 | Yeah Yorgi we're up at the mo, but this seems to follow the same old pattern of being nicely up in the morning, then falling back in the afternoon. It would be good if we could break that pattern and head for some new higher ground. John | 2350220
31/5/2012 11:08 | More importantly we are up today, not a lot I know but the market is hardly bubbling with enthusiasm. | yorgi
31/5/2012 11:00 | Thanks John, your charts and commentary are appreciated. Being nosey, what was the outcome in Nottingham? | cancun tango
31/5/2012 10:59 | Colva, it has always had me wondering as had the man I was speaking to on the stand and he had asked that question of someone in either their brokers or some such area. Nothing sinister. | yorgi
31/5/2012 10:54 | Yorgi - if that explanation is correct then it would probably happen on the last day of the month, which is today . | colva
31/5/2012 10:49 | Its quite possible that bigger trades would push the price that much higher in such a small cap stock. So the smaller multiple trades enable holdings to be built that much cheaper. | broadwood
31/5/2012 10:42 | Colva, I asked that question of the Mi2012 show and this was my understanding of what I was told. The explanation I was given at the Mi2012 show from someone on the AVN stand was (something like I hope I have it right) that they are computer generated trades by computer by funds that are buying/selling shares from various companies keeping their quotas in various sectors. I had always thought it odd to say the least but the explanation I was given satisfied my curiosity. I'm not sure whether I have explained it correctly. | yorgi
31/5/2012 10:35 | Hello buywell - I tend to look at buy / sell ratios rather than individual trade sizes but I'd like to know what you glean from that large number of smallish buys. | johncsimpson
31/5/2012 10:25 | Ok , why ? | colva |
