27/5/2012 10:16 | Looks like what could be a small setback for Echostar-17 has occured. Any delay in VA-207 is certain to have a domino effect on future launches, albeit, a few weeks or so should be of no consequence, so VA-208 late July/early August at best? Even so still no confirmation of the partnering satellites on VA-208, 3 horse race? | gorvachof
26/5/2012 17:11 | buywell - posts crossed. I'll keep an open mind and I have been following you elsewhere since I defended you here - post 8740 9 May. | johncsimpson
26/5/2012 17:05 | Extrader - re buywell's 8982 chart I'm 100% with you. That is indeed a major assertion. I was more looking at his 8968 and 8980 posts with what he refers to as a 'descending triangle formation'. I have been highlighting the same developing pattern on the other thread, albeit I referred to it as a pennant and first noted it in post 32 on 16 May. Whether it's a pennant or triangle is largely irrelevant where it's going is more important. | johncsimpson
26/5/2012 16:53 | Extrader 26 May'12 - 16:27 - 8992 of 8993 A valid observation sir and there is nothing wrong in asking questions The reason I put the red line in at the same angle as previous falls ... and have you noted I could have put many more similar blue lines than I did , was explained in an earlier post see Up to late friday the triangle bottom line had been acting as a strong support Otherwise we would not have got a triangle in the first place .... comes back to computer trading .... when the level got hit trading buys get generated BUT At some point ... the support caves in due to selling pressure With the support now gone .... the fall could be quicker ie same as before blue hope this helps | buywell2
26/5/2012 16:48 | johncsimpson I like the cut of your jib sir Check out my CRX and SBS threads I would like to have you aboard The reasons charts work and patterns in them repeat in a somewhat magical fashion is because trading computers use programs with mathematical algorithms which are .... guess what .... based upon charts When you buy software to try get the right time to buy/sell .... ditto Charts and TA work 70% of the time .... I can post the STATS for individual events if you want eg rising triangle , decending triangle , falling wedge etc etc I made myself start using them and understanding the pros/cons nearly 10 years ago after I realized I needed an edge | buywell2
26/5/2012 16:27 | Hi johnc, I agree it's good to cut people slack re charting. But if you look at buywell's 8982, he posits that there's a series of earlier blue declines that predict the current red decline. The problem with this assertion is that - whilst I agree the series of blue declining lines is uncannily similar - the extrapolation to the red is patently wrong : the start of decline we've seen (so far at least) on the red trends down to about 4 o'clock and not down to 5:30 like all the blues..... I like the business case for AVN - and already hold - so am ambivalent : if the chart prognosis DOES have value, I'll get a chance to buy more......;-> If it doesn't, no worries. ATB | extrader
26/5/2012 16:08 | Jeffian 8989, if you think about it, 95% of the posts are subjective - (95% being a subjective 'landmark'). The only 'facts' are what companies reveal to us via RNS or that brokers glean or what companies like Edison Research publish (usually paid for by the very businesses they're researching) or what others are privy to and perhaps leak. Even then, the interpretation of 'facts' is subjective otherwise why do broker price forecasts vary from £8 to £20+. I do agree about the spat from elsewhere especially if you know that two of the posters accuse each other of changing their posts anyway, which we all know is possible. But for my sins, I use charts and I can (not for the first time) see where buywell is coming from. Lines placed on charts are always subjective but as Gary Player once said 'The more I practice, the luckier I get'. If someone hypothesises that a certain patterns appears to be forming and as a result a certain event / direction is more likely to occur and then it happens and they've being consistent in their views for some time then surely they have as much right to be heard and taken seriously. Surely just peddling the same known fundamentals with blind optimism 'It will go up' - 'It will go up' - 'It will go up' is no more valid. | johncsimpson
26/5/2012 15:14 | Agree with you on that one Jeffian. John | 2350220
26/5/2012 14:34 | If he would stick to charting comments, fine - though it seems to me pretty subjective where you guys draw your lines - but spamming with repeats of spats from other threads is pretty anti-social. I almost lost the will to live. | jeffian
26/5/2012 13:18 | i consider Buywell's charting comments valid | juju44
26/5/2012 12:26 | I think Buywell does have a valid point to make re the Triangle breakout. The other day I posted about how I thought that we were due a massive breakout of the triangle to the upside. Well, now we have a break through the floor of it. So much as I hope that this will eventually be one of my catalysts for early retirement, I can't see it happening anytime soon. And the share price isn't following anything like it did prior to Hylas 1 launch EVEN though we are getting contracts, we've got one satellite up there, making profits, we're much de-risked etc etc. As someone said the other day, the markets/shares never do what you think they should logically do. At least none of my holding do, that's for sure. John | 2350220
26/5/2012 11:42 | Guys, Its best to filter Buywell and any other supporter that comes on with him like other threads do. He knows sweet fa about the company and will continue to post negitavity regardless.... hes been filtered by all users on GKP for doing exactly the same. If it drops back a little then so be it, but it wont be long before it shoots up again with all tghe Hylas 2 news and launch pending....it doesnt take a genius to post a chart or two in this climate RE greece/spain woes.... | jonnib
26/5/2012 11:20 | You are a bit up yourself aren't you. | sg31
26/5/2012 10:36 | This is why I am here buywell2 26 May'12 - 08:52 - 1027 of 1027 edit redprince , husbod and Mr Phil Re answering the post above ..... a copy of which I append at the bottom of this post because he will change it no doubt Remember your old mate ThisTimeNextYear , you and husbod know him , and asked him early doors on the old CRX thread for a run down on the financials (see I am part elephant) he did his best which didn't impress me much then came back on the thread a bit later pushing Tanfield ... well he's also TINY2004 and tried to push Avanti on the NFDS thread where Mr Phil lives, he said in a somewhat oily smooth voice ..... .................... TTNY2004 - 07 May 2012 - 07:40:10 - 24751 of 24915 Guys - glad you are still keeping the thread going after NFDS were sold and good to see you posting your progress. One you may like to cast your eyes over from a chart perspective that looks to have bottomed out and broken out is Avanti (AVN) which is 340p now. If it moves up then there is a gap to 430-440p levels (20% profit). Brokers all have buy notes with values of £8 to over £20. Maybe worth checking out, but please DYOR as always. I have an average entry position of 269p. Aleman, Aviva (AV) looks good for an entry point (or place to add) this week as I think with France/Greece political events of yesterday will cause uncertainty over Europe again whichg markets hate and can see financials particularly including AV dropping down. I reckon sub £3 on the cards on Tuesday. Hoping to pick some up 290-295p. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend despite the weather. ThisTimeNextYear. Being a bit protective of the olde codgers there I did a chart look at Avanti and suggested it looked like it could fall back .... which it duly did the next day much to many folk's chagrin , I also posted there yesterday as a follow up to say that 300p looked a very bad number for the share to fail at .... which it then also did I think your olde buddy blames me for a falling market and knowing how to read charts can you have a word in his shell like please This is what he said about me on the Avanti thread .... and remember he ramped Tanfield on the Cyprotex thread and Avanti on the NFDS thread .................... TTNY2004 - 08 May 2012 - 19:33:42 - 8715 of 8977 buywell2 8 May'12 - 18:31 - 8713 of 8714 A ramper appeared the other day on NFDS thread pushing this pile -------------------- Buywell - you seem to be an over opinionated individual! I from time to time look at the NFDS thread. If you care to look back you will find that years ago I used to hold NFDS and have posted there from time to time. Everything you say is gospel of course. All I was saying was I think this was looking an interesting play and highlighting it to a few regulars there such as Aleman. In my opinion the regulars there are more than capable of doing their own research. In my post I was also commenting on Aviva as well if you remember correctly. The way you come across it is as though I have spammed all the threads - this was not the case at all and left a post there. Get a grip of yourself man. Your comments are pathetic! For what is worth there will always be dip backs on such strong rises, but still live by my convictions that we will gap up to 440. Lets just watch what happens over the next few weeks / months. Tiny/Times don't you know advfn has it all down for posterity ? Well you do now ..... don't you Please try getting up before 6am like me ... if you get my drift TTNY2004 25 May'12 - 17:53 - 1026 of 1027 buywell - do you think this will retest 4p again. Looks like according to the chart it may do? Recent high 6.5p, dropped to 5 and then up to 5.5p. If 5p goes reckon we will see 4p again. May perhaps hover a few up if that occurs. Good weekend. Enjoy all that sunshine! TTNY | buywell2
26/5/2012 10:34 | Buywell I take it some of the shorts are yours. You pretend an interest in AVN infact your only interest is in throwing up questions about the business and trying to cause doubt in peoples minds. We have seen that tactic many times over, probably you under a different user name as the style is so similar. Peronally I bought shares several years ago and have been invested ever since. Falls in the share price just let me add cheaply. Some people have short investment horizons, I don', I look at long term prospects. They are pretty good at AVN. | sg31
26/5/2012 10:32 | This is what I think the chart might do, based upon what it has done However a good positive RNS could make this forecast wrong enough said for now I wonder if Tiny/This Time agrees ? dyor | buywell2
26/5/2012 10:29 | Buywell - thanks. Thats pretty much my reading of it and i wonder now is it heading back to the floor around 240/250 followed by a move up from a double bottom - again. Always full of promise but never seems to get there . Still gives me a chance to get on board | juju44 |
