The law of 'sod'...I closed my 'long' spreadbet just before the spike...it was almost inevitable. Next time I trade I will post on here so people can make money punting in the opposite direction.

Well it is a pleasant turn of events, however, little to celebrate tho' until those nasty shorters are burned out of AVN

I suspect that there must be some problem with the feed into ADVFN.

Probably Cakewall having to close his short to meet calls on his other duff punts.

Are those large sells an indicator of capitulation? Could a rise from here today bring about a double bottom? Could there actually be light at the end of the tunnel for AVN? I don't know, but I'm begining to think that this, which was once way over hyped, might soon become way over sold and worth a punt.

For the time being the shorters have it and have put fear in more and not surprising I guess that more sell as they see either their profits disappear or paper losses mount.

I still believe in the business and that it will deliver but only time will tell.

tsmith2,

Doesn't inspire confidence, does it?

Yes that pretty much sums it up M&S. The market in general is not good for a stock like this where the profits are some way down the line as someone commented fairly recently.

However things could change very quickly and one of the "big boys" might think it is worth picking up the whole company but no sign of it at the moment.

yorgi ... the business model is fine, the problem is the multiple at which the share price was trading ... if you like all the over confidence is being taken out of the share price

I would not like to guess what happens next ... I think in broads terms its some good news vs stock market consolidation ... I'm still waiting to buy, but it doesn't feel like the right time yet

I don't see that anything has changed in the company Scott but the share price is dire there is no denying that.

I think this stock has had it, I am very tempted to cut losses and get out! All the so called pro' wise men tipsters who talked about £25+ have gone very very quiet on this stock!!!

Cammy - more fool them. The market is far from rational...and they broke the cardinal rule trying to catch their own falling knife.

Don't get me wrong, given the likely bandwidth constraints of the future, there is undoubtedly a place for satellite broadband in the future, but it is just that - in the future. I would wait to see at least a month of horizontal stabilisation in price before buying in.

I'm quite sure there are plenty more leveraged long positions that have yet to be worked out of this stock (i.e. that will be forced to capitulate). Not pleasant but there you have it.

Geh,
I dont think we can categorically state demand is ahead of supply. Surely resellers wouldn't be so aggressive with pricing if this was the case? As far as I know Astras Ka-Sat plan has always been a cautious one, and it will only have downward pressure on prices imo.

Cammy
Surely its important to remember Directors sold many times that post launch, hardly inspires confidence imo. Whats more I cant seem to locate the details on their website, only buys??

Anyhow a nice little interview from your man Simon, Watch the Avanti piece from 2mins 35ses.

The Directors have bagged of £300,000 worth of shares at 4.10-4.30 levels. Do you honestly think they would be adding at these levels if they knew otherwise. Great value at these levels. I added 4000 shares at 3.86 yesterday.

One thing for sure if 380p does not hold (double bottom on chart) - could see this slide down even at worst to the 200p levels again. I do hold a small no of shares, and would add once bottomed out if story still the same and no bad news materialising.

both bull stories in my view

the second shows how many think the market is attractive

as we know demand is well ahead of supply

and the first article shows that AVN's consumer service is selling like hot cakes

looking forward to the july trading update

Superg...anyone that laughs at others like you do when losing money (albeit shorterm) shows what type of person you are.....as for LMFBO I dont believe thats nastiness its just what I do when I read your deramping...how many more times are you going to say you are goping to sit back and watch from afar then come back with more deramping!. All you are doing is baiting but the posters on here are to mature to respond in a nasty way, oh except for calling Cawkwell "fatty" but even that was lighthearted
I have never been nasty to anyone on these boards and never will, life is to short....yeh its hard watching the profit dwindle away but it wouldnt have if SC hadnt shorted it. It will rebound, anyone whos been following it knows this thats why the directors have been buying, buying and buying. There are a lot of contracts out there to be negotiated and these take time.
