05/5/2009 18:18 | I think his argument is compelling even though the price has maybe over reacted to the positive support. It will no doubt retrace but with the launch date approaching, it is maybe an opportunity for existing holders to get out and then back in with some money off the table but I think that todays price will look like a bargain in one years time, it just depends on your perspective and expectations really. I sold half my holding today but will look to buy back if it goes below £2 but at the same time, taking this action is not a certainty that myu strategy will work, particularly if they are also announcing further contract wins! | ![]() chrissey

24/4/2009 13:40 | RHPS said Avanti could make big money on its planned satellite launch. Avanti has announced a £4.6m three-year contract with Hutchison 3G. Under the Irish Government's National Broadband Scheme, the latter will bring broadband services to communities in Ireland that are out of reach of terrestrial alternatives. The contract has an expected value to Avanti of 5.3m (£4.6m) over three years. It has also signed up four new UK customers for its satellite broadband capacity. Avanti expects that the forthcoming Digital Britain study will recommend that satellite be used to address the 10% of the UK population who do not have access to acceptable terrestrial broadband services. Until it launches its own Hylas 1 Satellite, Avanti is renting capacity from other satellite owners. Once it is operating its own satellite, which should be launched later this year, it should start to make big money. BUY | ![]() dolores123

02/4/2009 11:14 | "Officials in Washington are moving to revitalize yet another faltering American industry: the business of making the communications satellites that hover above Earth and knit the planet into a global community" The problems appear to have been legal rather than due to lack of global demand. | sirlurkalot |
