27/10/2008 16:26 | The second small contract win in two weeks. Perhaps momentum beginning to gather with the launch date now some 5 months away. David Williams, Chief Executive of Avanti, said: "We are very pleased with our accelerating momentum in signing distribution partners, which gives us confidence in meeting our pre-sales objectives. We now have 24 distribution partners in 10 countries in Europe with levels of commitment ranging from EUR100,000 to £9 million. The results of our recent tour of marketing launch parties at British embassies has been strong, we expect to see significant new contract flow soon as a result. The pace of European commission funded rural broadband projects is also encouraging, with several large contract decisions pending." | ![]() sivadnoj
01/10/2008 16:05 | It would need to rise a bit more to tempt me to sell. | ![]() sg31
01/10/2008 15:15 | I really dont understand how market making works, but I would hazard a guess that there are people wanting to buy on the back fo results, and not enough sellers about hence the offered price has to rise to tease out sellers ??? | terryebby
01/10/2008 14:22 | How can the share price rise so fast on no buying! Got into these at 1.90 and it is the first time I've seen such fast movement on no trading! Results are fine, just 'business as usual' getting ducks lined up for launch. | ju1cester
01/10/2008 14:20 | whats the boards view of the results this morning ? Nice share price rise anyway | terryebby
12/9/2008 15:58 | UK could suffer economically and socially with 'poor broadband' Last Updated: 12:01am BST 12/09/2008 Britain risks falling behind Europe and the rest of the world socially and economically because of poor broadband internet connection speeds, according to a new study, writes Claudine Beaumont.... | ![]() piedro
08/9/2008 14:41 | From the latest contract: David Williams, Chief Executive of Avanti, said; 'Avanti's success in securing the best distribution partners for rural broadband in Europe is accelerating rapidly. It is satisfying to have secured such a high profile customer in Poland, Europe's largest market for EU funded rural broadband projects, and serves to demonstrate that we have the best quality product. We can supply satellite broadband to our distribution partners at prices from £8 per month and speeds at up to 8Mbps, and are therefore able to bring broadband to many of the 24 million European consumers who cannot receive terrestrial broadband at the most competitive prices and service levels.' I would be grateful for comments on: ..the best distribution partners... and, ...prices from £8 per month and speeds at up to 8Mbps... .... True/False .... Good/Bad... | ![]() piedro

04/8/2008 18:30 | Arianespace, which has had 25 consecutive launch successes to date had, I think, four failed test launches before their firts success. This is not unusual in this industry. | terryebby
04/8/2008 14:22 | every technology gets de-bugged, in launchers the de-bugging is quite public. there are still half a dozen spacex launches to go before avanti | terryebby
03/8/2008 23:14 | So, what's Plan B for launch? There's still plenty of hope for Plan A and I wish Elon well, but this is disappointing news. | ![]() rapier686

23/7/2008 14:39 | AVN has outperformed all of the indices year to date Curry, the "Not quite right" is the impact of consumer recession fears on ALL stocks | terryebby
22/7/2008 12:12 | true enough ju1cester BUT as you can see from the chart, in May when AVN put good news out the share price rallied hard. I wou7ld not bet on the share price going down since they indicated recently that trading is good. More good news will see this back over 200p sharply. Also I noticed that most of the recent director buys happened at 180p - 200p | terryebby
22/7/2008 10:00 | I don't disagree at all Terry. But why would I buy 10,000 shares now when I think I'll be able to buy 11,500 at 1.70? Its better to treble 11,500 shares than 10,000! | ju1cester
22/7/2008 09:21 | I just took another look at the charts. IN the last 12 months AVN has outperformed the ALL-AIM INdex by 26% and the FTSE All Share INdex by 8%. So its being dragged down by the market but there are enough people who understand its undervaluation to be entering the market to keep it up. The market capitalisation today is £51m. IF my notes are correct, the company funded its first satellite and launch with £30m equity and £24m government grant (= the same as equity), plus the debt of £32m. SO, the equity invested is £54m. That equity has presumably created some value - they have a satellite two thirds built a rocket on order some custeomr contracts like Scottish government, AND Licenses. Reading the FT today it seems that in the larger companies like INMARSAT, satellite spectrum is being highly valued and is resulting in M&A. Presumably Avanti's licenses have some value. Finally the whole project is insure for £87m. The brokers ahve been saying when the satellite launches the share prices will go to somewshere between £5 - £8 depending on sales. So All this means the market cap should be MORE than £54m, yet it is LESS. So, if you have the ability to take a 1 - 2 year view this is a screaming raging buy. Its irrelevant whether you buy at 170p or 250p because you are going to treble your money in 2 years. How many opportunities are there like that ? | terryebby |
