Even my nanna knows that a tiny bit of spike protein in her arm might hurt a muscle cell - but at least it's not in her lungs and at least it's not alive to make more! It makes me sick that you would spread this nonsense. What a complete loser.

Why buy Alexion- why not create a jv to bankroll Alexion's pipeline?

I have seen how the share AZN price reacted to Alexion deal and I will vote against the deal. I will not reward the City or speculators by voting the deal through.

I note how Alexion adr is around $170 level - below bid price. I don't buy into the recent increase while AZN share price remains below £85 to £100 range. Alexion needs AZN's cash to fund future r&d - time to renegotiate the bid price ?

This is a start.

"The chief executive of AstraZeneca has hit back at critics in Brussels over jab shortages and said India would have had "no vaccines" without it.

Pascal Soriot, speaking at its first quarter results on Friday, said the company had "done its best" on delivering vaccines for the Covid pandemic, even in the face of intense criticism.

He said at the start of the pandemic "everybody was talking about 120, 130 vaccines in development - we forget that. But where are all those vaccines? They're nowhere."

"Without AstraZeneca, there would be no vaccine in India and no supply to Covax", Mr Soriot said, referring to the organisation delivering jabs to developing countries.

Mr Soriot is expected to return to Britain next month, having travelled to Australia around Christmas to be with his family.

"My life has been spent around 80pc on video over the past couple of years, because I manage a global network and have a team based in Sweden, Cambridge, the US, China," he said.

"We've learned to work remotely, even more so, which by the way helps us to reduce our carbon footprint, so working digitally is certainly something we'll do even more in the future."

AstraZeneca provided figures that showed it had delivered 90pc of the vaccines in India, which has been gripped by a deadly wave of the virus in recent weeks, and 98pc of the vaccines to Covax."

Those numbers need to be converted to GBP ?, I dont think the PE is 11x.

Last time I got around 16.5x on (current) FY 2023 estimates.

Estimates will change significantly on completion of the Alexion deal.

FY guidance of $4.75/$5 per share gives a forward PE of around 11 at current share price of $53.
Can't see AZN being as low as $53 in 10 months time and should have an impact here?

"We expect the impact of COVID to reduce and anticipate a performance acceleration in the second half of 2021." Nice.

When you look at the new drugs, forward pipeline and recent approvals (e.g. Tagrisso in china) then this looks a great company to hold.
