Mr bIn 2008 AHT sold the company to a management-led buyout backed by Phoenix Equity Partners Ltd for about £95.6 million.Yes it listed on the date you said.

The chart commences on 23 Nov 2021. I presume prior to that date it was a private company.

AT was sold many years ago.
It was the fact that they had completely messed up the news item and quoted - either the wrong company or the wrong price that had me wondering.

bracke,

Assuming AHT is on your monitor, you have the tabs , monitor , microscope, news

I click the news tab for my monitor every day and it brings up any news items about those companies on the monitor.
Not sure if I have a preference ticked for Dow Jones news feeds as well , if that makes any difference , I don't think I do
I keep another monitor which has the indices on so the company specific news does not get buried under a tonne of other news .

So I get a list of usually a dozen or so new items each morning then other stuff appears during the day.

But its found on there and thus whomever loads the Dow Jones news feed still thinks its AHT

Good day MrbCan't see what fenners has posted but there is an article on the AHT news feed on here referring to a placing by Ashtead Group.Yes folks do think AT are still a subsidiary of AHT, or that AT is actually AHT - you couldn't make it up :)

Hi bracke ,
for you (and the less tolerant individuals amongst us) its on my monitor news tab.

Which as we all know features the news from stocks in our monitors (only!)
and is a Dow Jones News line for ...... Ashtead Group Plc....LSE:AHT

So the wilfully rude should take it up with them....

Good day fenners

Where did you find the announcement? They are idiots.

It should be Ashtead Technology Holdings PLC.

Here's the AT. DAILY CHART. Not bad is it.

" Numis Securities Ltd. said Wednesday that it has placed 4.8 million ordinary shares of Ashtead Group PLC on behalf of Arab Petroleum Investments Corp. at 260 pence each, as first flagged late Tuesday.

The investment management company on Tuesday said it was placing the shares on behalf of Arab Petroleum via a bookbuild program.

The placing price is a 15% discount to Tuesday's closing price of 305.0 pence.

Following the sale, Arab Petroleum will indirectly own 7.6 million Ashtead shares, or 9.5% of its issued share capital."

Hmmmm.....Somewhat mercenary. I had expected a more public spirited reply.

I think your conclusion that the two companies are being conflated is correct. Says something about some traders/investors.

Do you think the London Stock Exchange should be contacted and asked to remove the rise in AHT share price which is attributable to AT SP?

I do think that some folks think AT. is still part of AHT - whenever the former share price spikes upwards the latter has a nice blue day. Could be coincidence but if memory serves it's happened on several occasions (14/3 AT c +20%, AHT c +11%).

Good day rescuer

The DOW is a 'nutty' index easily influenced by a couple of shares. News from the two largest market capital shares have a major affect on the index which can easily catch out the unwary trader. I much prefer the S&P 500.

So far the US market gives the impression of 'what's all the bother?'. How many more rate increases of 0.75%/0.5% are there to come and at what point does the US market capitulate.....no I don't know either.

IF (that's a big IF)the FED are utterly determined to get to 2% inflation or close to it the probability is that the affect of doing so on the US economy will be such that the market will be unable to ignore it.

In the meantime you buy in small tranches and I trade what I see not what I think.

The VIX shows no sign of volatility but it has dropped to the 61.8% and has a low RSI.

Good evening Mr b"That's not the sort of negative comment I expect from you"Wasn't saying it was a bear rally! lolI'm looking at lots of RNS's and it's not all doom and gloom, some companies are doing okay and issuing "ahead of" outlooks. Yes that's now / in the past, and Q1 2023 may not paint the same picture. The macros look a pile of poo but think a lot is already priced in. Have been buying some in small tranches and will take things one step at a time.
