07/11/2022 17:09 | Good day disc0 "Is this another bear rally I wonder?" ==================== That's not the sort of negative comment I expect from you. Surely it should be more along the lines of 'the breakout from the 5 month fib retracement and a higher high maintains the continued recovery of the SP'. | ![]() bracke

07/11/2022 12:42 | The share price has moved further up from the ascending wedge and is now at the top of an ascending channel. It has also moved above the last major high at 4716. Next target 4911 but the RSI suggests that it may retrace before breaking above 4911. There is important data from the US this week particularly Thursday CPI. Not forgetting the US Mid Term Elections. AHT DAILY | ![]() bracke
06/11/2022 13:04 | Hi disc0, Thanks, yes the pca experiment remains open, and I plan to make further similar small purchases when I feel the urge. I’ll perhaps report progress again, good or bad in April next year to anyone who is interested. Just by the way, I anticipate that the annualised and actual percentage returns will converge in the fullness of time. | ![]() perfido
06/11/2022 10:25 | Hi Perfido No problem, that's still a nice profit either way you cut it. Hope it continues to increase - im assuming your PCA positions are still open?, just curious. | ![]() disc0dave45
06/11/2022 07:54 | Hi disc0 Thanks for your comments. In my defence I used annualised return to cope with the different timescales and costs to provide a basis of comparison for pca with other investments which I should perhaps have made clearer :-) Time to move on I agree.. . | ![]() perfido
05/11/2022 22:08 | Hi PerfidoThanks for that, can't see all the posts but get what you mean, didn't realise you'd annualised it but should have twigged.Would have said 21.6% if 6 months (2 x 10.8) so looks like it was less than 6 months (probably still got it wrong and best I leave maths to the experts and shut up!).Either way congrats, any profit deserves praise in this market. | ![]() disc0dave45
05/11/2022 10:20 | Good morning all, fenners is abolutely right, the PCA stake has been built on 6 transactions to date between March 22 and Sept 22 (see post 61216) making the gain calculation quite tricky. disc0 you are right too, in absolute terms the actual gain is 10.8% if 'purchases' timimg is ignored. However using my portfolio management tool (Fairshares Portfolio, anyone remember this?) , it returns the total percentage per annum figure of 29%, taking into account the investment timimgs. You pays your money and takes your choice, but for simplicity I am happy to edit my earlier post to show the lower absolute gain if this will aid understanding.. Main thing is, we are in profit (at present)! | ![]() perfido

05/11/2022 08:30 | His %gain may take account of the timing of several purchases months apart _ I suspect the maths on that could be tricky | ![]() fenners66
04/11/2022 21:27 | PerfidoNice one, but isn't your gain 10.8%?Some have said numbers are too much for me to handle, so I'm probably wrong!.Thanks for sharing. | ![]() disc0dave45
04/11/2022 19:21 | Good evening Mr bThose pesky gaps, let's hope the 4550 is one that gets away.Dracula bites if you don't put a coin in his hat.Have a good weekend | ![]() disc0dave45

04/11/2022 12:58 | The share price back up to have another attempt to break above 4716 and has filled the gap at 4720. There is another gap at 4550.....just saying that's all. The VIX appears very calm and showing no sign of volatility suggesting all is ok or maybe it's whistling in the dark. AHT DAILY VIX DAILY | ![]() bracke

03/11/2022 16:38 | i think My Powell is looking at the US through rose tinted glasses.. We've a hell of a long way to go yet.. they ought to have hiked higher, both across the pond and here in Blighty.. yesterdays and todays increases are nowhere near enough.. expect more in the coming months. sometimes i wonder if these "folk in charge" can actually join up the dots.. Covid economic wave has only just started Ukraine and Russia will drag on and most probably escalate. whats looking like the 4th consecutive year for La Nina (never before have we had 4 years of La Nina. 3rd of the southern hemisphere under water - so limited production there. Cost of energy through the roof Interest rates on a march. 450m folk currently in transit we needed a bigger more severe hike... guess we'll just bump from one pillar to another post for the next 2 years then.. whilst Powell and Bailey cross their fingers. bring on the Autumn statement, because that's going to be full of joy... NOT.. | ![]() rescuer
03/11/2022 15:50 | Good day disc0 "on the ball" is not a term I would use in relation to the FED. If you remember it's not so long ago Mr Powell was saying inflation was "transitory". Now he is saying the level of rate increases will probably have to go higher and last longer than expected. When the amount of data the FED have and still are unable to get it right it does not fill one with confidence. | ![]() bracke
03/11/2022 15:12 | Thanks Mr b for your TA Doesn’t take a lot to confuse me, but when the FED said they will now take into account the cumulative impact and the lags (amongst other things), I nearly choked on a Winalot biscuit, there was me thinking they were already doing this and they are on the ball - clearly not!…..so how can Powell then say there is more to do to tackle inflation…..pi | ![]() disc0dave45
03/11/2022 13:50 | Mr Powell did not assist the cause so resistance at 4716 held. The share price has retraced back to the upper line of the ascending wedge. There are two gaps to fill 4550 and 4720. All things considered the share price has held up well so far. Will there be sufficient buyers to take it back to try and break resistance at 4716 or will it drop back into the wedge?
