The market usually drops following Inauguration Day.

There is no smoke and mirrors about this company just look at the results. I do accept that it maybe running ahead of itself on the prospect of Mr Trump's promise of infrastructure spending.

Yes there is the probability of a retrace/pullback to one of the SMAs' (eg 50, 100, 200) but the probability of something more is unlikely.

If you are short your best chance would appear to be after 20 January 2017.

Avoided the full heat treatment.......wimp.



Now that the FED have finally increased the interest rate and the DOW is just short of 20,000 perhaps we are in for a short period of calm. The market usually drops following Inauguration Day which is 20 January 2017.

The share price is resisted at 1660 and supported at 1600. If 1600 fails next support is 1550.

Short Tracker is showing that declared AHT shorts have reduced further to 1.54%

Eminence Capital reported reduced positions on 8th and 9th Dec, dropping to 0.52% and subsequently 0.45% respectively.

Tomorrow is FED interest rate decision.

The way the market has been reacting I don't think it will make any difference as long as any increase is 0.25% or lower.

Not if your short fenners. A welcome relief to the overpowering smell of a powerful Trump. Hopefully URI will do the decent thing and take a dive as well.
I am, as always the poster child for Aht long but got caught out with the dump and rally on Trumps successful morning. Sold first thing and bEen short sinc. Need to get those trades covered before we march ever North in 2017.

A front page article in the FT on 3rd Dec. headlined "Trump to inherit rising economy"- "US jobless lowest since 2007"and "sustained acceleration in manufacturing". That is without the election promises on infrastructure spending , lower corporation taxes and the rest. It might be no bad thing if he under delivers on some of them to avoid a boom-bust scenario.

The market euphoria is based on Mr Trumps declaration that he will spend on infrastructure,cut taxes, bring back jobs, etc, etc. As far as I am aware he hasn't stated where the money is coming from....I suppose he could borrow/print it but never mind about such piffling matters just believe.

All the time the market is prepared to go along with the 'message'; no problem. Failure to deliver; problem.

In the meantime we trade what we see.......something I should have remembered.

I was equally impressed, the AHT people certainly know their business in tremendous detail, most encouraging! Did you spot the question from the D*B rep? Accounting in Canadian dollars???

The snake and rabbit standoff is a great analogy, and one wonders what will break the spell...

Unfortunately it seems that Trump is a bit of a loose canon, so I don't suppose we will have to wait too long once the Xmas festivities are out of the way!
