08/11/2022 14:19 | I do think that some folks think AT. is still part of AHT - whenever the former share price spikes upwards the latter has a nice blue day. Could be coincidence but if memory serves it's happened on several occasions (14/3 AT c +20%, AHT c +11%). | ![]() disc0dave45
08/11/2022 13:07 | Good day rescuer The DOW is a 'nutty' index easily influenced by a couple of shares. News from the two largest market capital shares have a major affect on the index which can easily catch out the unwary trader. I much prefer the S&P 500. | ![]() bracke
08/11/2022 10:23 | Bracke - agreed post 61455 - DJI is defying gravity.. that said, the Dow is still way off it's high, whereas the FTSE is not far off.. sitting things out at present.. | ![]() rescuer

07/11/2022 18:28 | disc0 So far the US market gives the impression of 'what's all the bother?'. How many more rate increases of 0.75%/0.5% are there to come and at what point does the US market capitulate.....no I don't know either. IF (that's a big IF)the FED are utterly determined to get to 2% inflation or close to it the probability is that the affect of doing so on the US economy will be such that the market will be unable to ignore it. In the meantime you buy in small tranches and I trade what I see not what I think. The VIX shows no sign of volatility but it has dropped to the 61.8% and has a low RSI. VIX DAILY | ![]() bracke
07/11/2022 17:46 | Good evening Mr b"That's not the sort of negative comment I expect from you"Wasn't saying it was a bear rally! lolI'm looking at lots of RNS's and it's not all doom and gloom, some companies are doing okay and issuing "ahead of" outlooks. Yes that's now / in the past, and Q1 2023 may not paint the same picture. The macros look a pile of poo but think a lot is already priced in. Have been buying some in small tranches and will take things one step at a time. | ![]() disc0dave45

07/11/2022 17:09 | Good day disc0 "Is this another bear rally I wonder?" ==================== That's not the sort of negative comment I expect from you. Surely it should be more along the lines of 'the breakout from the 5 month fib retracement and a higher high maintains the continued recovery of the SP'. | ![]() bracke
07/11/2022 13:42 | Good day Mr bIs this another bear rally I wonder? | ![]() disc0dave45
07/11/2022 12:42 | The share price has moved further up from the ascending wedge and is now at the top of an ascending channel. It has also moved above the last major high at 4716. Next target 4911 but the RSI suggests that it may retrace before breaking above 4911. There is important data from the US this week particularly Thursday CPI. Not forgetting the US Mid Term Elections. AHT DAILY | ![]() bracke
06/11/2022 13:04 | Hi disc0, Thanks, yes the pca experiment remains open, and I plan to make further similar small purchases when I feel the urge. I’ll perhaps report progress again, good or bad in April next year to anyone who is interested. Just by the way, I anticipate that the annualised and actual percentage returns will converge in the fullness of time. | ![]() perfido
06/11/2022 10:25 | Hi Perfido No problem, that's still a nice profit either way you cut it. Hope it continues to increase - im assuming your PCA positions are still open?, just curious. | ![]() disc0dave45
06/11/2022 07:54 | Hi disc0 Thanks for your comments. In my defence I used annualised return to cope with the different timescales and costs to provide a basis of comparison for pca with other investments which I should perhaps have made clearer :-) Time to move on I agree.. . | ![]() perfido
05/11/2022 22:08 | Hi PerfidoThanks for that, can't see all the posts but get what you mean, didn't realise you'd annualised it but should have twigged.Would have said 21.6% if 6 months (2 x 10.8) so looks like it was less than 6 months (probably still got it wrong and best I leave maths to the experts and shut up!).Either way congrats, any profit deserves praise in this market. | ![]() disc0dave45
05/11/2022 10:20 | Good morning all, fenners is abolutely right, the PCA stake has been built on 6 transactions to date between March 22 and Sept 22 (see post 61216) making the gain calculation quite tricky. disc0 you are right too, in absolute terms the actual gain is 10.8% if 'purchases' timimg is ignored. However using my portfolio management tool (Fairshares Portfolio, anyone remember this?) , it returns the total percentage per annum figure of 29%, taking into account the investment timimgs. You pays your money and takes your choice, but for simplicity I am happy to edit my earlier post to show the lower absolute gain if this will aid understanding.. Main thing is, we are in profit (at present)! | ![]() perfido
05/11/2022 08:57 | Just bought Dracula some reindeer antler’s ! | ![]() disc0dave45
05/11/2022 08:30 | His %gain may take account of the timing of several purchases months apart _ I suspect the maths on that could be tricky | ![]() fenners66
04/11/2022 21:27 | PerfidoNice one, but isn't your gain 10.8%?Some have said numbers are too much for me to handle, so I'm probably wrong!.Thanks for sharing. | ![]() disc0dave45

04/11/2022 12:58 | The share price back up to have another attempt to break above 4716 and has filled the gap at 4720. There is another gap at 4550.....just saying that's all. The VIX appears very calm and showing no sign of volatility suggesting all is ok or maybe it's whistling in the dark. AHT DAILY VIX DAILY | ![]() bracke |
