I don't think so. That is why as i said earlier, reports on Tavsan progress have been scant. That did worry me i must say. Did not seem right. But as Biggles says Tavsan is only now 23.5%, in our de-risked strategy, the resource is going to grow at Kiziltepe and satellites, there is hopefully exciting value at Salinbas and in Project Leopard etc. plus all that cash which mitigates against much downside, given our already bombed out valuation.

Kerim acknowledged some time ago that if they were to strengthen the Board (i don't think he was ever keen to do so mind you) that it could be an ESG appointment where they needed more specialised skills. Shame he didn't follow shareholders advice and got on with that. I also suspect that having the Cos MD on the other side of the world does not help when there are delicate issues that need top level attention. In my opinion Kerim needs to get over to Turkey and start to sort this out asap.

Eti Copper had a similar situation and it's up and running now. They are run by a big conglomerate close to Erdogan so we will see if the same applies for Ozaltin,

Looks to me like the previous area they protested against is a much more scenic, holiday resort than where Tavsan is. I can see why that one got support with a ski resort and picnic area going be Google maps. There's nothing much near Tavsan, but may be clutching at straws looking for some ray of light. Surely there must be a reasonable time table on this situation?!

There's an interesting post over on the LSE AAU board with reference to a previous situation regarding this court.

Can the ore be moved from Tavsan to Kiziltepe. More cost but we use the existing mine as reserves are depleting anyway. Can't recall how close they are and what the roads are like. But then different treatment, so perhaps not do'able. Just a thought.

Anymore negativity you can fit into one post ?? Yes this isn't great news but no one knows the story yet. So presuming in the negative is your prerogative but let's see what happens. AAU share price actually performs worse on good news as there are large holders intent on reducing holding into good news so their other holding isn't too adversely effected. It may go down it may go up . One thing for sure and that is the effect here is not as great as if we still held 51% but people still go in about a give away. To me the tarsvan is to aid exploration costs . It's not going to effect the drill results around hot madden and that's where the blue sky potential comes from here and not long term dividends which sine are here for.

In all honesty, the more one reads the RNS the less important in the big scheme of things it really is.

It's nothing more than a short-term halt to construction, and there is much confidence that it will be nothing more than that, as other construction around the mine is continuing.

In my view the share price drop and selling has been overdone, but I do await comment with interest from TW and HSR - maybe something in the Sunday press eventually too?

Shortarm do you seriously believe that the share price is not taking into account the production expected virtually imminently at Tavsan? I admire your positive attitude but you are bordering sticking your head in the sand here now. The people who you constantly berate for being negative are just questioning and being cautious, And that cautious approach keeps being proven to be the correct view - or haven't you noticed the shape of the share price graph in recent years?

The only thing I have to say that we are all, even Shortarm, getting fed up of making excuses for this company. This was a nice, tight, shareholder friendly operation with seemingly limitless possibilities until the end of 2019 (also known as 'the day of the big giveaway for no good reason').
Its been pretty much a one way (downhill ) street since which seems to have little chance of turning. I wouldn't like to begin to think where the share price is going on Monday. As for the Q&A as a PR exercise, if I was them I would cancel it and save everyone's time and money.
I am concerned this could be serious. Unless my memory is wrong this is a 'cheap' heap leach operation at Tavsan. Lots of lovely toxic chemicals sloshing around. And all of a sudden there is a problem with Environmental Impact which we thought had already been put to bed months ago. That sounds potentially difficult to resolve to me.

My brief post 16412 makes the point about the JV, lending its weight to the situation. I am sure they have a much greater chance of rectifying this issue than AAU would have had alone.

On the bright side, it provides a good opportunity to set some options for MDV at a challenging target. Allow them to vest at something much higher, like maybe 3p.

In situations like this there is not much else you can do but drink!
Clearly the Q&A to lay down the foundations to potentially attract new investors, is now going to be more about why existing ones should stay. I'm not suggesting here that there could be a rush for the exit, as that clearly is unlikely. But more the tone of the Q&A will have changed somewhat.
