Mentor seems like a good all-rounder. Glad to have him on board.

Spot on Biggles.

One target 8 years hence is just not good enough. Could be miles out in 6 years time and lower than we are today and still say they are on target. Any chance of a 1, 3, 5 year target so we can assess how they are progressing?

Interim targets with milestones would be good. Need milestones as progress might be great but markets might not be.

Biggles - are you sure the bod want any new investors in AAU? The impression I get is they are quite happy where they are. A nice bank balance and a nicely producing mine that will service the finances for years to come. Shareholders are simply a burden to be tolerated, not appeased.

I think everyone is cheesed off at the lack of definitive progress or communication of progress along each project. By the way the shareholder has been Alienated over recent times means the board has lost an amount of trust which would easily be repaired with a few decent rnss but the days of trust in us but we aren't telling you exactly what's happening have been sacrificed. What's needed is up to date detailed information as to each project, what's happening with reviewing the broker but also how these individual components making up the business will potentially make the £500m market cap vision so eloquently put forward 18months ago. In other words what we've done, where we are, and where are we going and answer the simple question - why should someone invest in Ariana.

I just do not understand the joy of whining yet, maybe I'm not old enough? It achieves nothing, nada, zilch but if it makes you and Plasy happy then no need to filter. Biggles Is doing something about it, Plasy with all his business acumen is basically just flattening the battery on his phone!

Like I say using that tone earlier was a bit extreme and no need for it when there is the filter button.
You don't think I am going to change the way I post do you so it is there for you to filter Plasybryn and I out.
We have renniks telling us to keep the faith but dixi is exactly right and I have been here 17yrs give or take.
It is about time some faith was repaid and shareholders treated as such and not treated as an annoyance to the company.

Soul, all days are good in the Nordics apparently but AAU is doing OK compared to all others! Agree that is not an excuse to not communicate!

Never reported anything to anyone matey, but do you not feel that you've done all you can here? I mean seriously? It's an hour later here so opinions are two beers harsher but maybe time to stop feeling so badly done by and just leave quietly?

Thing is Rennicks I have kept this faith (admittedly on and off, but mostly on) for over a decade. I really want to see a return for my faith, but I do not have the benefit of time these days. So the sooner the better for me!

A wee bit extreme Shortarm. Have you had a bad day.
Sit down, chill and have a glass of wine.
And at the end of the day there is always the filter button if it is hurting your sensitive ears.
Enjoy the weekend.

Are you the one who tried to report us to the AAU Board in one of the Q&A's.You can tolerate mediocrity if you wish but i suspect our business experience and background places us in a position to demand better.

One for the weekend guys and girls, accept the bod have their short comings in certain areas highlighted numerous time over the last year, but for me they excel in finding what I'm invested in, add that to the way in which they, and their partners, run the local producing assets and the development of future producing assets, then I for one are keeping the faith, been to a lunch in Cardiff ahead of the game tomorrow, excellent stint by Mr Guscott, one thing that reverberated in his anecdotes was his ability to 'keep the faith' when so much was going against him, he believed in his talent, believed in the 'market' that would discover him, and ultimately that paid off. Again I reiterate 'keep the faith' as it will provide the rewards we are all looking for. May the best team win! Come on England! ?

As always imo.
Tavsan wont make any material contribution to the Ozaltin led JV this year, if indeed anything. Production even if it happens will be late in the year, and even then there is always a period of ramping up of production from very little to a steady state.
So I will be expecting only the existing producing mines.

doingnothing I get the feeling we will get guidance between X/oz and Y/oz this year just in case they do get production moving at Tavsan.

Maybe a little unkind there Soul.......
The impression I get is that Ariana want to find and develop prospects then part capitalise on them, rinse and repeat. So I think a controlling interest in Cyprus would fit that model, and when exploration enhances value and maybe production commences then an interest, maybe a major interest, is sold and focus is given elsewhere. There is probably a waiting game here because Venus is a private company, there is no real way to force a takeover without agreement. Being a 50% shareholder with a £500k convertible also issued could open the way unless the IPO is successfully completed. With exactly 50% there is potentially a stalemate at Venus at the moment, we need control.

That would be OK if Ariana wanted full control. Everything we have seen in the last two years suggests they don't want to be in overall control of anything.
Next week we are into the 3rd month already and no one wants to give us an explanation of what has happened with Apliki.
If negotiations are on going then say so. I don't think the limited comment we have had so far in any way suffices

I think we were also told that some limited work was ongoing at Apliki while waiting for the Venus ipo so it wouldn't necessarily be the full 18mths to production, so is that written off too.
But it is all very much in line with what we have come to expect here. A project which we thought would have followed quickly on the heels of Tavsan will now be 2025 at least even if we manage to renegotiate Apliki. The junior market has certainly not improved for a Venus ipo.

Agree with Shortarm
My interpretation is that the 500k is a loan to Venus from its 50% shareholder (AAU). This was intended to further the Apliki option, but the abandonment of that doesn't mean that the loan is written off, it wasn't ring fenced only for Apliki. If that isn't the case then the Board would have some explaining to do.
My hope is that they are playing hardball and that the situation in Cyprus, and the inability of Venus to launch the log awaited IPO, will lead to AAU having a controlling interest in Venus so that they can dictate policy.
