The fact that this has taken so long can only mean there has been a hold up (for whatever reason) in the court proceedings imho. Hopefully the company is now on the final leg and we will, at long last, see the special dividend emerging in the next couple of months! Meanwhile, I hope we will see progress in several other of the company's projects that are supposedly imminent.

My wish is that this time they have the documents correct and are doing the correct capital reduction. The re-submission of some of the forms which, at first sight look identical to me, and the delay in submitting to Companies House some of the later share option share issues seems strange.
I wonder if initially they tried to reduce the share premium account by the amount referred to in the circular forgetting that the premium account had increased through the latter share option exercise by MDV and KS after that date. Or had tried to reduce it allowing for these but had not submitted the forms to Companies House to enable it to happen at that time. So had to get the forms in in April and we then got our update two weeks later. - Pure speculation on my part but it would fit with the delay
I believe.
The company has previously shown a weakness in Company Law when they bought AAU shares on the open market and they tried to put shares into treasury and the directors had to buy them.

We'll see some selling today from traders who will move their money out for the next few weeks, but overall today's RNS was the kind of thing I have been wanting for the last year or so.

Nice to see a comms with the sole purpose of keeping us informed. More of it please AAU.Its so simple, just be open and keep people in the know, you remove speculation and keep hold of nervous hands. Be great if they could see the positive impact of this rns and maintain updates on all fronts, even if just by way of current status. Momentum isn't only achieved via hard results.

So the new timetable looks something like this :

Court directions hearing - Early June

Court hearing to confirm the Capital Reduction - late June

Registration of Court Order and effective date of the
Capital Reduction - mid July

So late Jul/eary Aug for an ex-div date ?

Agreed Lottsgold many people on here asking for better communication and I would say this is an example of that. They don't have all the details but they have given us a timeframe. Communication like this is about expectation setting.

The thing is here, we all know about the dividend and have done so for a long time, nothing new, but glad to see reference to the 'future dividend policy', which imo certainly infers that the special div, will not be a one off. gives me more time to accumulate a few more and knock down prices, but we all know that wont last for long, because the news none of us know about, and for me is far more important, is the acquisitions we are making, definitely one, could be multiple, and that story my friends, can only be told when it is right and proper to do so, and until that time we will get more drilling results from Kizl, new results from Cyprus, mine upgrade coming on line, 6 monthly production report, what is not to like, my glass is half full.

Oh, and it's future dividend policy so they've obviously been working out how much they can afford to pay out each year when Tavshan comes online etc

They are notifying us as soon as they are able as we would expect. Happy to have the dates and a mention of a future divi policy. Nearly there...

So the company delegates all shareholder contact to a PR company who then - at a crucial point in time - decide to take a break leaving nobody to deal with shareholder concerns. Unbelievable!
