Have to chuckle. CHF up 13%,...ECR, KAV and PALM all up 3%. AAU down 5%. Due to portfolio weighting, net result...Groundhog Day. 😴 Mustn’t grumble I guess. It’ll happen one day...

Once the company starts talking about it again, I promise I will stop.

Cyprus is as much about copper as gold, and setting up a copper mining operation is very expensive - so it may turn out better to prove the existence of cu and gold deposits then sell on, depends on the volume of copper found i suppose.

bb, i like the long term nature of board's strategy, but it doesn't excite non-holders. and even as a holder i would like some near term action too.

i didn't understand your point on cyprus though, are you suggesting they will add value to the project and then sell it on prior to development and then rinse and repeat with another project? i assume that is what they might do with any new deals they make with the jv cash but would they do it with cyprus?

Always been like this for AAU mining updates always positive and always relating to future. However you have to look slightly outside box and see that they are exceptional at finding gold and the rnss prove that fact. Apply that to having significant funds to exploit exploration potential for potential sell on (Cyprus) for example it becomes very exiting indeed. But this won't resonate with new investors because it's not marketed that way. Here it will value out but more patience than normal is required due to the boards agenda clearly being more long term than people would like. I'm happy to continue to add because I can't see there being much downside but unlimited upside. Obviously DYOR

charles, yesterday's news whilst excellent for the kizil mine (production volume and longevity), imo its the sort of thing that leaves anyone who is not a holder fairly cold, it is stuff which will pay off eventually so non-holders will see it as fish to fry elsewhere in the meantime. even as a holder i thought yippee but let's see some news about near term action please, for example the increased mill capacity leading to huge impact to bottom line now, not way off in the future, or dareisay the divi.

rising interest rates not good for pms. rising inflation good for pms.

its basel3 that has me excited for now, in case it brings about an end to manipulation of gold price.

The Capital reduction is being dealt with in the UK, so no issues there (same as I3E and Open Orphan) in terms of jurisdiction. There might be other issues about receipt of the funds and transferring it to the UK, but the court case is purely UK.

I would imagine things aren't as easy simply because of the jurisdiction we are working in.
What I would like is some clarity as to how much longer the company think this will take and what is happening with the money in the meantime.

maybe there are sub-agendas with the proposed divi we have not been told about? eg. presence of cash in company accounts to get better credit rating perhaps to help with deal making, just making it up but who knows?

Took open Orphan just over 1 month to get reduction in capital approved

Open Orphan (AIM: ORPH), a rapidly growing specialist pharmaceutical services clinical research organisation (CRO) and a world leader in vaccine and antiviral testing using human challenge clinical trials, confirms that, following its announcement on 13 April 2021, it has received Court approval for the reduction in capital. The reduction of capital will become effective on registration of the Court order at Companies House, which is expected to occur in the next few days.

'Doubled' to just 1.5%..?? That means it was claimed to be 0.75% up to last month.

More like, 15% in 'real' terms, at least.

But, gold, PMs and cryptos, in fact ALL commodities, can only possibly go in on direction from here.
Just look at the UK property market as an indicator..

And here we come - https://news.sky.com/story/rate-of-inflation-more-than-doubles-in-just-one-month-to-1-5-12310503. Inflation doubled to 1.5% in just a month. The knock on effect of money printing. We're going to see some hefty gold and silver prices shortly in my view.

Plas - good post. If it's any consolation, I hold I3E and folk there are complaining about missed dates/slipped delivery of the proposed special delivery...

It's all relative
