No absolutely not, sorry if ive come across that way. Im a LTH here as most of you probably know, I checked recently and av price 1.89 so i have no interest in deramping. Im just trying to keep things honest, it would be easy to create a hysteria train with gold where it is (and potentially going), and such transformational news on the horizon. I always try and stay in the middle so when there is a general wave of either unwarranted negativity or exhuberant positivity i guess i naturally try and bring it back a bit. Certainly not meant negatively, just posing alternative views as i've seen too many people asking "How is this where it is" over the years.

Kirbs - you've been generally biased towards negativity lately - anything to tell us?

I think initially the speed of the increase was due to speculative investors in AU. That said, given everything that is happening and unfortunately the global economic outlook in the short term plus uncertainty around COVID, I think this will go much higher than $2k. Wouldn't be surprised to see AU at $2300 by Christmas or even higher. That's part of the reason why I'm invested here, particularly given AAU AISC of around $615 which makes this a compelling investment case when also factoring in other factors such as Ozaltin, dividend potential, Salinbas etc etc

As a novice i was suprised to see AU pop thru 2k so easily. Not suprised it needed a second go..

No argument against your point, but an additional, alternative view is that with the significant potential for new investors riding this gold wave, another delay announced now would lead them to review its history, a company almost a year late with such transformational decision making may put people off. Not my view but an alternative one even factoring the current climate.

Just a hunch but think we're gonna see a very good day for gold today as it looks like it may have just broken through $2000 again!!

Also the deal has to be ratified by shareholders prior to signing but I see that as a formality assuming terms of Procceas buy in are made clear.

Kerim usually likes to take it to the wire so I guess traders will take advantage of that. But there is a chance they could get caught out.

Anyone worried about the 'deal' being delayed - just remember that every day it's delayed means we're making more and more cash from the existing output!

Thanks guys yes, EUA. I bought equal amounts of shares in both but have topsliced 1.5m of my EUA to buy a house leaving just under 2m to ride for the final sale. The way precious metals are going and with institutional interest building in the sector I wouldn't be surprised to see this follow a similar path.

Almost perverse and quite depressing to watch but don't despair. I have recently been through a similar kind of experience with another one of my investments earlier this year. Was wondering if they would ever get past 4p, then 5p, then 7p. Now they are sitting at 22p

The behaviour of the share price is almost perverse against the back drop of rising PM's prices, some big sells have gone through, you would think that the seller had some compelling unknown reason to need that cash with all the upcoming news etc. But against the wider market it is so puzzling as to why the share price isn't way North of here.
