They would have to amend the Geneva convention first.

Well done, if you make a bomb on the stock market, you should absolutely pay the tax.

You can’t say you even worked hard for it

Anyone totally anti-vax is missing the point, but I do think we should be concentrating on the main problem which is clearly anyone over the age of 60.Less than 400 people have died below this age with Covid without having any underlying conditions and yet the workforce and spending power of the country has been put in lockdown! The constant concern about the number of positive tests is madness, the young and healthy catching and recovering from Covid gives better protection than any vaccine, all my kids and their friends have had it without any issues but they still can't go to school?Shield and vaccinate the vulnerable, stay home get vaccinated if you chose to, but get young healthy people back into work and education.I am not anti vax or a conspiracy theorist but I won't be recommending my 19 year old daughter has it, that's just common sense in my view.

I'm sceptical of these claims which are becoming increasingly hyperbolic and usually made by highly institutionalised fund managers. Their roles are increasingly becoming obsolete. Challenged from one side by increased investor empowerment, another by poor performance compared to passive funds, and again by the increasing sophistication of AI. They are no longer the gatekeepers they once were.

You appear to be one of a minority that treats tax as a social responsibility. But I won't get started on that.

All I'd like to see is the 'open your eyes and see the conspiracy' crowd just taken to a few hospitals to see what's happening in the real world. Or just denied any treatment for anything at all, as they're basically science deniers, so why should they benefit from any science at all. Confiscate mobile phones for starters and remove their social media accounts. OK to use the results of science when it suits them. Pure hypocrisy.

Bah !

Hopefully we'll all be back talking about ARB tomorrow morning.

Good advice there sunshine. Unfortunately I held arb and my other crypto stocks in a general investment account because I didn't think they would come to much. I balked when I realised it would be difficult to avoid a hefty tax bill (only options are bed and Isa which would take many years to fully complete!) but I've had a pretty easy time during lockdown and I'm thinking of the tax as a way of paying back those who've not had it so good and kept the country going.

Interesting reading. Million dollar question of course when as opposed to if.

Hopefully and I expect we get to mid-summer with some more large gains ...

But the drops each time are from ATH's. The number involved in $BTC is only going to grow. The best thing to do with Crypto is buy and hold. The drops are now hitting $4k at a time. The system is programmed to wipe out shorts and longs in futures/margins and can do it in seconds.

History is repeating itself, this is the 3rd bull run. If history is something to go by 100k min for BTC in 2021. 2022 it will drop back again. It's coming and will happen. DYOR

SIPP PENSION

Tiny low cap stocks can , and do, produce fabulous returns over the short to medium term.

This portfolio has been through two market crashes and has still produced returns that city boys never manage to replicate.

30% compound over 15 years.

It has taken substantial hits on some stocks where management have not performed or the business model has failed. That is to be ABSOLUTELY EXPECTED when investing in the bottom one per cent of companies, listed on the LSE.

Plan summaries

Plan Number D100 xxxxxxxx

From inception 20 Sep 2005

Total payments
£29,746.40

Total withdrawals
£627,038.52

Total fund value £1.453,327

It also proves that you don’t need pay into your pension a great deal of money at the start.

Mine cost me £29,000 gross, but since my ex employer paid half of that and the tax man another 25%,the actual cash I personally put in was around £13,000.

It’s not that hard to do.

Two ten baggers starting with £10,000 and it’s a £1M

The Simple way to do it it START with tiny low cap stocks and wait.

Just like those have done here ( not me)

We’ll done

To get herd immunity, we need to have between 70 to 80% of the population vaccinated. But that cannot be achieved quickly with all these anti- vaccine campaigners.A close friend of mine very fit, 54 and a lecturer contracted the virus . Is over 2 months now since he recovered and he cant even walk 3 mins without having to take a rest. The long term impact of the virus on him is shocking .

That netcurtains all depends on the BTC price by then. Atmo i would say down as the price has taken a dive this morning. Things can change rapidly though so we wont really know until first thing tmw. BTC never sleeps !

Well, I took a bit of a gamble mid afternoon on Friday and sold out of Argo for, nothing other than not knowing what BTC will do over the weekend.

Will look to buy back in on Monday but with the ups/downs of the BTC price right now, haven't a clue whether that was the sensible thing to do or just plain daft! lol

Does anyone have a comprehensive list of blockchain listed co's here in the UK as, as with most things technical/financial the US appear to value such co's far higher there than here so, the main point being ones listed here in the UK and with a view to a duel listing in the US. I know of the obvious ones but looking more for un-noticed co's that, given the now full steam insti interest in everything BTC, a dual listing makes perfect sense. Even dual listed ones that remain off the radar, if there are any left?

As for the £10 debate, when Argo was 5p I would have kicked you out if you said the share price would rise to circa £1.40 in less than a month so, in turn why not £10, and especially given the rise in future BTC due to halvings/increased mining & difficulty competition.

Condolences to your friend's family mate

many may disagree on level of lockdowns, but vaccine should be a no brainer to anyone with a brain! Likewise herd immunity is a fact

Perspective as well though is that this has a c.1% mortality rate. It is not ebola at 80%! so we will get through this....
