18/9/2014 11:28 | Caught me pleasantly by surprise as I had not seen a share re-purchase programme announced. The buy-back and the recent director's purchase would seem to put a pretty solid base price under the shares. Overall good news it would seem. | truffle
18/9/2014 09:28 | There's been no announcement of a share buy back programme. A single purchase of 31,000 shares isn't going to make a huge difference to earnings per share figures. It could simply be a way of balancing any options that might be exercised. Whatever the reason i am sure they wouldn't have done it unless they thought the purchase was good value. I'm not getting excited about it, nothing much going to happen here until the next set of results really. | nivison
17/9/2014 17:04 | Anpario have bought 31000 of their own stock,Karen bought 12000 last week....anyone got any thoughts on why they are buying (again).I could understand if they were going to cancel the treasury stock but that is not what happened last time. | spekky
11/9/2014 21:45 | After hours rns sees Karen buy another 12000 shares, this will be missed by most observers,, but I know that when an F.D. does this, people should watch this space....... Checking further on yesterday's trades would make me think Karen was not the only director to dabble..........we'l | spekky
10/9/2014 14:33 | Funny auld game isn't it???...... Good RNS and down 3p.... Couldn't make it up...... | tailgunner2
10/9/2014 13:03 | Good luck with 230p.....you never know.....in general I think most investors don't appreciate that they have only just scratched the surface in Brazil,China and USA....there's a long way to go before Anpario is the finished article.I will be keen to see what Allianz do over the coming months.... | spekky
10/9/2014 11:05 | I assign a pretty high % to the chance of me rebuying at 230p. | rcturner2
10/9/2014 11:01 | well, perhaps I am a little bit more bullish than both of you. The American market in particular has a huge potential but my investment horizons are long. | nivison
10/9/2014 10:48 | I sold at 281 on the way down but very much have ANP on the watchlist. I certainly consider myself an investor not a trader but I just felt the share price had got a little ahead of itself. Brokers forecast PE for FY15 is 17.1 and I'm just not sure they are generating enough growth at the moment to justify this. Great company though, very well managed with great products in a market certain to grow, so what do I know, dyor, etc. | tudes100
10/9/2014 10:40 | I sold at just below 300p and have this on watch, as I do think it is a good company. At the moment it is certainly above what I am prepared to pay. I tend to balk at paying more than 15 times forward earnings. (edit: my entry price would be about 230p) | rcturner2
10/9/2014 09:49 | You're right, I wouldn't buy it at any price. Prior to these figures I was happy to buy at anything under £2.50. I have revised that upwards but that is against my own criteria, yours might be different. And, with the wonderful benefit of hindsight I should have offloaded a few at £3 plus when the valuation had got well ahead of itself. However, I am not a trader and am buying these to hold - I've got quite a few in my SIPP. If I was buying them to sell next week or next month my view would be different than if I were buying to hold. So if you are looking for a specific price target - I'm not telling you! | nivison
10/9/2014 09:28 | nivision, I agree with you 100%, but that doesn't change the central question, which is what price are you prepared to pay for that? I assume that you would not buy Anpario at any price? | rcturner2
10/9/2014 09:22 | Its steady growth and achieved despite a big drop in middle east business due to the deteriorating political atmosphere and, during the reporting period, a strong pound. In my view this is a considerable achievement and one which vindicates the global strategy. The dollar is now strengthening once again and the pound is weakening which should have a positive effect on the second half figures. Sales volumes are up and margins are good. These point to a promising future and I for one am happy to have ANP as my largest holding. I don't want spectacular stuff thanks, I want sustainable growth from firm foundations and I am very happy with what the management are doing here. | nivison
10/9/2014 08:45 | It's not massive growth though is it? Assume 10% growth, current PE is what 16/18? Quite a premium rating really. PEG of over 1.5. | rcturner2
10/9/2014 08:36 | yep growth continues, just tuck away and come back in a few years woody | woodcutter
10/9/2014 08:04 | Yes,very pleasing, especially interesting is the comment about genetic improvement of the progeny..........and no mention of the porcine virus which I assumed might have some bearing on sales......well done team, global domination beckons. :-) | spekky
10/9/2014 07:07 | Good results, very encouraging, well run company | ayl30
03/9/2014 15:41 | Recent additions, one in Brazil and one in South Asia. | spekky
01/9/2014 15:18 | Well, regarding my post 694 (I have gone over it again) and assuming there is nothing missed by advfn........Downing have definitely been "economical" with their rns notifications....... | spekky
30/8/2014 15:41 | Don't forget there is no need to notify if an order is "ongoing." This allows institutions to buy (or sell) large numbers of shares in illiquid stocks over a number of days without yelling to the market that they are doing it and the price being moved against them. When it is technically complete, they have to RNS any notifiable change within a couple of days. Fair enough IMO. spekky- if an institution clears all the stock out of the market it is hardly surprising that the price takes off! | hiddendepths
29/8/2014 12:11 | Possibly - but it depends also on which is the chicken and which is the egg. A big institutional buy would certainly trigger a rise hence the order in which the events occur. | blenkinsop2
29/8/2014 10:59 | Isn't it odd that institutions manage to buy just before lift-off...... | spekky
28/8/2014 19:11 | They don't have to notify until 3% and after that at every 1% change. I think the timing is wrong though. Its meant to be 2 trading days later I think | domxxx
28/8/2014 18:13 | I tend to be a bit senile these days BUT....how come on 9/4/2014 Downing have 596k shares, then they add 20k.........and now have 811k shares, did I miss something between April and today? I get a bit miffed when institutions don't play by the rules......please can someone double check me. | spekky
28/8/2014 17:30 | ...and figures due September 10th, so expect a run-up before then I feel. IMHO etc | julesb9 |
