we've been here quite a while now spekky and i think we'll be here a while longer too. I top sliced several times in 2014 and took some profit but have virtually bought them all back again now.

The latest results and feed sector changes are testament to a long and prosperous future growth curve aimho.

This is why I think the US operation is so important to ANP. With McDonalds starting to go down the antibiotic free route , albeit just for chicken at the moment, it at least demonstrates the strength of demand for antibiotic free product in the US. Existing US 'antibiotic free meat' restaurants are having to source their meat from as far afield as Australia. Think of the cost advantages for McDonalds of sourcing from the US. ANP is well positioned to take advantage in my opinion. If you are wondering where the growth potential is with this share, here is a perfect illustration.

I first mentioned PEDv (swine virus) back in post 600,I am very encouraged to read that some Anpario products have a beneficial effect......if this can be proved to a greater extent, then we should trade at a premium to today's share price It kills many piglets and is not treatable with antibiotics.
Today's results contained much more reference to research and collaboration with universities so I don't think it will be long before we get a "golden bullet" for dealing with campylobacterr.

I would rather they invested in the business by making a decent acquisition. The share price would (eventually ) rise as a result. Problem is finding something appropriate at the right price. Good problem to have though.

Very good results. a big thank you to all at ANP. I think the new US operation is particularly exciting and has obviously been well received. It seems ANP are selling into a huge market there which is eager for their product. Also, much better profits (up over 50%!)from UK operations proves they are keeping their eye on the ball at home too.

Just need to find a home for all that cash now, and if I am reading this right there is already a further £0.5million on top of the £6.6 million at year end from the disposal of the small organic operation. So, £7.1 million to spend on something...

great results. expect the share price to move this morning, there'll be a scramble at the opening.

Excellent figures - this co remains a long term hold - imho ( and note absence of numerous posts on this board - to me that often indicates an interesting business - don't know why except short term punters don't seem to be evident here!)jb9

Excellent.......

Good uplift in dividend, great detail on the USA operation and more importantly some evidence that their products can help combat PEDv,the pig virus, which I have mentioned previously on this thread..........great reading :-)

Well they've said plenty this morning!

Impressive figures. I may well top up. This is a sleep-easy long term holding as far as I'm concerned.

Unfortunately it's hard to find much news/press for this company, they don't say much........I suppose we shouldn't moan as long as the business is doing well.......looking forward to results but would really like some acquisition news.

Indeed, nothing wrong with cash on the balance sheet. Gives protection in bad times and allows the management to take advantage of opportunities. It also helps smaller companies win contracts as shows they are going to be around in the future. I never understand why so many big businesses prefer massive debts on their balance sheets and then get killed when something unexpected happens.

I don't want a special dividend or any share buybacks thanks. I would like to see this company grow long term. I'd rather wait for them to find something decent to buy just hoping that is sooner rather than later. Not complaining - I think the management are superb. this is by far my largest holding and makes my ISA look quite good despite a couple of other rather less successful share picks....

You never know, they might give us a special dividend.....the search for another add-on seems to be taking forever...,I had thought it was Richard Edwards main area of focus since stepping up to executive V.C.

agree, decent TM. I think the relative strength of the dollar will play well for ANP as an increasing percentage of earnings are in dollars. Also, cheaper oil will (eventually) feed through to lower costs of production. Hope they can find something decent to acquire soon - got to do something with the cash pile.

Yes but as usual there is some smoke and mirrors,if you or I were trying to buy those quantities the price would rise substantially.....imho.Some are let in on the cheap.....we are getting near the close period so it could be directors or a buyback or options maturing.
This time last year it was Rose buying his options and selling on the same day.
