One can but wonder whether the new Trump steel tariffs will likely dampen/reduce coking coal demand from countries such as China and Korea which have been intensively manufacturing and exporting steel to the USA.

Trump wants to boost the USA steel industry and it seems likely that this will have an intentionally positive impact on the USA Rust Belt steel industry and correspondingly negative impact elsewhere.

Australian seaborne coking coal being shipped to Asia is one thing. Australian seaborne coking coal being shipped to the Rust Belt is something else.

wouldn't surprise me if it fell significantly further in the current market weakness.
