Good to see APF's latest investment involves Cobalt production as well as Nickel. (SML is also interesting regarding Cobalt Http://uk.advfn.com/stock-market/london/strategic-minerals-SML/share-news/Strategic-Minerals-PLC-Drilling-Recommences-at-Han/75539598 )

Unless I have missed it, we seem to be missing any timescale on the project. How long to first production and first revenue?

Interesting acquisition but I wonder why vale didn't develope it further? They obviously spent a fair bit on the testing of the site and a demonstration plant, so why drop it, as they are the worlds largest nickel producer

I have had no response from the company - yet. A resource upgrade of that magnitude would require APF to issue their own RNS. If none is forthcoming, then we must assume that the upgrade is outside the royalty area.

No It doesn't. It only has royalties on part of the site. They have only started mining in earnest on APF's area. Previous to that Rio mined outside of APFs area and hence the vast leap in APFs fortunes.

I am at assumption that APF gets royalties fro KESTREL coal mine as a whole. Why? Because all that is coming out of KESTREL is liable to pay royalty to APF!!!!!!!! That's what APF has bought.

Early Thursday, Rio Tinto it has increased estimates of its Rio Tinto Coal Australia’s coal reserves at Kestrel underground longwall mine in Queensland, Australia, compared to the previous estimate in the 2016 annual report. Kestrel Ore Reserves have increased by 62 million tonnes, from 123 million to 185 million. This increase in Ore Reserves reflects a continuation of work on Rio Tinto Coal Australia deposits previously announced in March 2016. 150p here we come

But in the meantime, Macquarie have reiterated their Buy recommendation on APF and raised the target price to 185p, which is nice.

RCT - yes. if they diversify into RENEWABLES - The Berkeley news this morning exemplifies the isue. The real point about the Berkeley news is that a Gulf state of the importance of Oman is actively investing into URANIUM. They should sell all their coal and reinvest into renewables. That is the tragedy that they are vastly overweight in coal. QP ps NellyBelly 8447

Neilyb675 - the share price seems to be 3% above that for 1 January this year so soaring is not really the first word that springs to mind

QP is clearly right about the long term outlook for coal. However, that does not mean that the APF share price will follow the same trajectory. Companies operating in declining markets can still be good investments.
