Wan - SRB received some nice exploration results this morning. Chart looks good, but seems to struggle to get/stay over 90p shor-term. I have only a small holding, but it ticks the boxes for me.

Really pleased with that ALTN RNS this morning - that has increased my confidence to keep holding after the less than spectaculor annual results - progress is now being made.

Looking fwd, global supply constraints balance demand weakness.

I saw a stat yesterday that said only 340 people under the age of 60 and without a serious underlying health condition have died as a result of C19. So if you are under 60 and are fit and well the inference was that you should just be getting on with your life. Isolate the vulnerable and the old but for the rest of us life needs to get back to normal as soon as possible.

yes, govt around the world all fairly disjointed in their approach … It is quite beyond me why the UK is only now saying new arrivals to the country will have to self-isolate!
For the last 2 months folk have been arriving at Heathrow and free to onward travel across the UK .. that seems like madness.

First hint of a second wave in the Autumn / Winter and I'm quite sure they will bang the doors closed far quicker

On the virus:

Yes, i realise that most of the national stats presented by WHO are highly innaccurate; nearly all the developing nations ones are huge underestimates.
Eg. A study of Jakarta, based on reliable burial data v normal levels indicates that only ~5% of CV19 deaths are being reported there.
There simply are not the resources to identify them.

This notwithstanding, it is obvious that the virus continues to spread.
So, it's not only a case of a winter wave in the Northern hemisphere to consider.

It is clear that there has been a dramatic spread from W. Europe to the East.
Russia will become a news focus for the media as CV19 is rife there now.
Iran and Turkey were hotspots from early on and though the Turks have a handle on it,
Iran's stats show an uptick the past 2 weeks.
Armenia looking really bad; new infections double+ for May so far what were for April.
Whatever the deficiencies of the measures, if they are the same yardstick then they are worth noting.

Yes, realise Ajerbaijan has a 14 day quarantine system for immigrants.
But we know land traffic with neighbours continues; AAZs supplies depend upon it as do its CC exports.
And do you think that nobody is finding illegal ways of transit across very extensive land borders?

So, those higher reported infections in Azer. the past week should not be dismissed lightly.

Currently balancing off being below deck on CCL with a short on EZJ, about even on the pair now. Trying to keep an eye on both today, to close out soon.

Well at last am back on the net after 2 months of having to rely on my mobile and paying for expensive data. I did see though whilst on the phone a price of 69, or was I dreaming. Trouble was very short of the green stuff as have now bought my house and farm so money is tight and even tighter at that point as all my stock was showing a horrible shade of red, some still are but not as bad and thankfully my gold stocks are in the blue. I see we seem to be getting things under control as global numbers are coming down, although some countries seem to have a problem reporting the truth. I hope people think whilst awake and sleepwalk into a nightmare as if they continue to act irrisponsibly as I see some do then this virus will return in the fall with avengence.
Before anyone asks why, I have moved to Portugal and took time to get organized due to lockdown.

I'm not looking to unload here. I will sell some at £2, £3, and hopefully at much higher prices.

Eh brasso? If we’re not going to grow I’d want it to be a lot higher than 50%

I’m not looking to unload. The shares I have are a long term hold.
The shares would earn more than the interest we currently earn via the divi.
It would, IMO, be another earner for us.

I want to see AAZ grow to 150,000 - 200,000 GEO oz of production. If they do not intend to do that then I would rather have a dividend policy based on 50% FCF.

Ha ha yeah. I hoped my sarcasm was evident there.
Ok so I want “someone”; to find a buyer
For example... If the share price was £3 we should be able to find a buyer for em at £2.5. No problem for the company if we bought em at £1.

Cash is King right now … lets keep, what is not paid out as a divi, in the bank please.

There is a very real risk of the virus returning this Winter, just like flu does each year & we none of us know how mutated beyond its original strain it may be. None of know if/when a vaccine will be found.

Far better we are one of the very few companies with no debt & plenty cash in the bank should that scenario play out rather than shell out the cash just to keep a few shareholders happy who are looking to unload for a profit

Exactly mf.
I don’t want the shares cancelled
I’d want our fabulous NOMAD/brokers to find a buyer for em at an increased price at a later date

I err towards creating a buyback option but holding off on exercising it as JB suggests.

Matt is right to highlight the very real risk of a 'second wave'.
Indeed, if you look up the past week's new infections in Azerbaijan, they've
shot up rather and at least matching the highest week recorded.

Don't shoot me for pointing this out; can't be 100% good news all the way.
Just a very real risk to keep a beady eye on.

Otherwise, very hopeful for share price boosting RNSs following a v. healthy FY one.
A lot of pent up news on the resource for sure.

I would be quite happy for board to buy back 10m shares at £1, get share price up to £3 and then issue shares to a nice institution at that price! £20m profit, lovely!

I'm massively against buy backs. Firstly it suggests the bod think they cannot add long term value to the company above existing share price by investing the cash in operations, secondly all the evidence from the last 12 months is companies that engaged in buy back programs are then left short of cash when things get tough such as now. 12 months ago we were being told more about the vast gold resources for which we have rights and access. I want to see the cash being used to dig it up and sell it at usd2k or above. Then the share price should treble form where it is today. Far better use of our money than reducing liquidity by another 10%.Well then have a spread of about 20p per share!

I doubt they would want to be interviewed by proactive investors unless they have something good to say

Hoping results are published on 14th

I’m with mf
Eminently sensible, so long as they don’t cancel the shares and they’re bought during a dip.
Keep em in treasury and look to find a buyer when the market has cottoned on or after a good announcement etc

This is all so long as we have nothing better to do with the money of course.

As mf alludes to, nothing to lose by creating the option. Don’t have to use it.
