So far the miners seem to be holding steady given the $30 drop in pog, AAZ the usual exception. That means the investors are not buying the gold price fall as long term. A couple of mine are even up so far today, which is a surprise.

Sanity check on POG:
Guidance for 2020 and $100mn revenue based on POG of $1,480/oz:

"Anglo Asian CEO Reza Vaziri commented , "Once again, 2020 is set to be another year of solid performance from Anglo Asian Mining with forecast revenue of over 100 million dollars and production between 75,000 to 80,000 gold equivalent ounces."

" Assumptions

The production guidance has been calculated using the following metal prices used for the 2020 budget:

As the FED is now buying just about anything in the markets to try to keep the plates spinning, I guess they are desperate to try to keep gold down before it makes a complete fool of the dollar? One's reminded of the Wizard of Oz, where it is revealed that all the noise and images of big scary things, turns out to be a worried old man desperately pulling on levers. The dratted over rewarded criminals that let things get to this pass, would hardly seem to be the people with the competence to pull the blazing plane up from hitting the ground.

pog taking a hit again today I see. Must be almost time for an agreement in the US on the next Covid-19 rescue bill then. Wonder what it'll be this time? $4 Tn? $5 Tn? Gold will then go back up as the monetary easing hits $ and shows how weak US economy is. Gold is still some way above the average Q1 price, but no doubt this'll be used to ping mining company prices.

Charts are intimating $1640 bottom in POG and then a ping up to $1900

If Bill is no longer able to come and present in London, they should set up an investor conference call instead.

Yes Bumpa. The opposite is more of intrigue to me right now, as at some point LOIL should explode. I’m just wondering if it’s possible to go negative? Presumably so, but it’s years since I had these type of debates on another site.

The risk of mine closure recedes further:

Arguably, the risk will become greater following a relaxation of the lockdown; depends on circumstances.

"Steady, boring, dividend-paying, cash rich, debt-free, gold miner …. surely one of the best possible ports in the current storm?"

A large part of why i hold Matt.

Perhaps it's because AAZ is an AIM listed miner, operating solely in Azerbaijan that these attributes go so underappreciated?
Even being a gold producer may not elevate its safety credentials, as perceived by the general run of income seeking investors.
Most of all, there remain caveats over the sustainability of these attributes; that's much more likely to feature in the minds of prospective investors than those who've been here years and researched in depth.

When the long awaited JORC-LOM update arrives, given it delivers significant extensions, this ought to at least assuage such concerns as to the above attributes being sustainable.

The big potential is with expansion and the potential is very evident; however it will be very good and more enjoyable journey there to extent the current, steady production, cash cow, rising income look dependable over at very least the next 5 years, bridging well into an expansion phase.

ABC News featuring expert report calling for spit/saliva testing not nasal swabs

Recent Italian study: - “A striking feature was highlighted in 2 patients who showed positive salivary results on the same days when their pharyngeal or bronchoalveolar swabs proved to be negative,” the authors wrote. “These results reinforce the hypothesis that saliva is a reliable tool to be used in qualitative COVID-19 diagnosis through the reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) procedure.”

Cheers

I guess my biggest issue is that production went from 71.5 to 84koz between 2017-18 and is still around that level. That's 2 years of finding prospects but, as of yet, no end product. For a company that is cash rich and proud of bringing new resources into production quickly, news is well overdue. I think the "we're in a hurry" part of the motto needs more emphasis!

Don't knock it mf. Steady, boring, dividend-paying, cash rich, debt-free, gold miner …. surely one of the best possible ports in the current storm?
I'd rather be here than trying to chase the latest Pharma to RNS some sort of wonder drug related to CV-19.

Winter dragging its heels a little at Gadabay … but, warm dry weather cannot be far away now & the ops/exploration teams will welcome that
