21/7/2020 12:17 | There was opposition to conventional cyanide treatment of gold in Co Tyrone, Nth Ireland last year. CGNR has looked at Biox treatment of it's gold as an alternative option. It seems treatment of the ore and environmental concerns could be issues with a mine in the Republic as well. Gold found in hills of Co Cavan. Paul Ainsworth 15 August, 2019 01:00 AN Irish drilling firm has discovered gold in the hills of Co Cavan. Conroy Gold and Natural Resource said the drilling of 'scout holes' at Slieve Glah to confirm the presence of gold ore is a "solid starting point" for further exploration. The find comes as Canadian mining company Dalradian Gold revealed it was dropping plans for cyanide processing of gold ore in Co Tyrone. It hoped to build a plant at Greencastle which would use the chemical to remove gold from ore mined nearby, but said this week it would instead be treated "overseas". Campaigners have vowed to continue their opposition to the gold mine. | ![]() stevea171

Gold worth €546m has been discovered in Monaghan. It has been described as an 'exceptional' discovery. 2 MAR 2018 Gold worth €546million has been discovered in Ireland, it was announced on Monday. The find came after Conroy Gold and Natural Resources’ said test drilling showed there were 517,000 ounces at the company’s site in Clontribet, Co Monaghan. Chair Professor Richard Conroy described the “exceptional&r Conroy has a licence to drill a 30-mile stretch of land in the Co Monaghan/Armagh border area and four years ago the company estimated there could be 15 to 20 million ounces – potentially worth billions of euro – in the ‘gold district’. The former Fianna Fail senator founded CGNR in the late 1990s with hope that he could reap huge rewards from the gold mining sector in Ireland. | ![]() stevea171

21/7/2020 11:05 | What a fantastic opportunity with great potential. fwiw The timing is to perfection as I do believe that job creation is one of the key incentives in Ireland. Wonder if there are any grants/attractive loan schemes for mining companies wishing to create new jobs? secondly it looks like there maybe an easing of restrictions where building is concerned to help boost the economy, wonder if such easing will be extended to mining as from a number of posts it appears red tape may be a concern. | d3009

21/7/2020 10:54 | There is no way AAZ haven't done their due diligence here. They would have spoken to the government to ensure these areas would be able to be progressed. Another part of the jigsaw but I'm sure there are a few pieces still to add before it is complete. | ![]() jaspoland

21/7/2020 10:21 | Conroy gold, no wonder the share price has been lagging. I knew there was something behind the scenes but couldn't put my finger on it. Have been in Conroy longtime back and won't be investing there again. Obviously the market knew all the time hence such a vast spread, well after this that spread isn't going to get any better. Good luck to those still in but not me, there are better fish in the sea at this point, where you ask Hoc Cey and Paf are all a better bet and will give a much better return than the 6% here as the share price in all have far out performed Aaz. | ![]() cinoib
21/7/2020 10:19 | This is right out of left field but could be a massive winner. Luck of the Irish? Good luck for AAZ? Prof Conroy: "When we first went into Clontibret we had, at the most, 3 or 4 thousand oz there in just one local area. Now we have a 40 mile new gold zone with a whole series of probably world class targets. It's taken a long time but its certainly been worth it." | ![]() stevea171
