The disconnect between our share price and POG is becoming absolutely ridiculous, let's see what the next few weeks/ months hold for us

Jeanesy - AAZ mgt must’ve seen something they like, if you trust them then I guess go with it. I was expecting something with a little more ‘oomph’ I admit, Conroy has done nothing the last two decades but it is what it is...

The share price is absolutely ridiculous. Gold is now over $500/oz higher than the AGM on June 2019, when the share price was at today's level. So since then the company has banked $20m, paid out 8c in dividends and is making an additional $25m in profits. In fact, our profit margin has gone up around 70% since then.
This is bonkers, something has to give. £2.20 wouldn't look expensive.

I'm surprised at the volume of sells today with POG broken out - $1840 spot now.
The JV, at worst does no harm.

Suppose some switching to other higher geared or perceived higher growth PM miners is the main reason.

People giving this JV way too much attention. Its pocket money to AAZ!

Some move in gold and silver today
I think we're generally underwhelmed by this JV, but that was always going to be the case: if someone is sitting on a fantastic resource that is easily realisable they will know exactly what its worth. Any JV, almost by definition, isn't going to be immediately value accretive.
The excitement is all about what is happening in Azerbaijan and to the price of gold. I really hope Stephen puts out a comprehensive exploration update, and uses it as a chance to sell the company

I know that I may be alone in this but I really can't get my head around this JV. It may only be 'beer' money to AAZ but couldn't it have been used to better effect to developing some of our own potential sites like Orubad ? The answer is surely yes unless there is other news to come that we have not yet been told about ? I have to say that everything about CGNR that i have read does not fill me with enthusiasm for this venture at all. The management at AAZ have been exceptionally good imo and therefore i will have to trust their judgement on this, but i really do find it all very strange. I take it Bumpa feels the same which makes me think that i may not be the only one who is confused by this?

Mattjos

You are spot on.

I think todays RNS is a great one with low cost and high optionality and shows what the company can do.....AND.... sends a gentle message to AZ....

Shows our mid-tier aspirations.....

It's both option money &, more importantly, a message to Az.Zero tangible value at this stage ... price of gold far more relevant just now

Have just been looking at all the gold miners on my monitor and over the last 12 months they vary between 50% and 110% higher from that point, bar 1 Aaz which has barely moved 1p from that point. Yes it may pay good divi but all the others have outperformed the return by 10 t-20 fold the divi alone and some , not all are paying a divi as well, so bonus. I for one invest for capital growth as well as picking up any divi that comes my way. Unfortunately as good as this company is, capital growth in the past year is zero and Conroy won't help. Don't get blinded by the light by the quality of the management as I don't think Conroy will do you any favours, have been there have been burnt once and won't have anything more to do with them or their friends.

Guys

Look at PXC who announced a non cyanide way of processing, which does not require a permit in Idaho. The results were on a par as using cyanide.

AAZ/CGNR will I am sure look at this possibility.....IMHO.

Edit....Donald you and I were on the same wavelength 😀

Well, I'm not sure what to make of this. I think I speak for most of us.
We will just have to let the company tell us more in due course. But I've got some PXC and they recently announced they were expediting gold production in Idaho using an environmentally safe, non-cyanide processing approach. So it can be done. But this doesn't feel game changing for AAZ. Though there is plenty in Azerbaijan that could be.

bonio, worse case, you will loose your money. Have been there many years back and would not touch Irish gold with a 10ft barge pole. Can't think why Aaz can make a better job then anyone else. Take your money while you can and find pastures new. This is their first and hopefully last bad choice.

There was opposition to conventional cyanide treatment of gold in Co Tyrone, Nth Ireland last year. CGNR has looked at Biox treatment of it's gold as an alternative option. It seems treatment of the ore and environmental concerns could be issues with a mine in the Republic as well.

Gold found in hills of Co Cavan. Paul Ainsworth
15 August, 2019 01:00

AN Irish drilling firm has discovered gold in the hills of Co Cavan.

Conroy Gold and Natural Resource said the drilling of 'scout holes' at Slieve Glah to confirm the presence of gold ore is a "solid starting point" for further exploration.

The find comes as Canadian mining company Dalradian Gold revealed it was dropping plans for cyanide processing of gold ore in Co Tyrone.

It hoped to build a plant at Greencastle which would use the chemical to remove gold from ore mined nearby, but said this week it would instead be treated "overseas".

Campaigners have vowed to continue their opposition to the gold mine.
