Eastern Economic Forum: the East is bright (by Ambassador Alexander Yakovenko)

When talking about Russia’s Far East, you invariably remember its stunning natural beauty, abundance in natural resources and vast territories. But when one thinks of its investments prospects, you also invariably remember its harsh climate, low average population density and the lack of transport and other infrastructure.

But now the situation is changing fundamentally. The region is undergoing a huge and qualitative revival. The development of the region has been declared one of the national priorities for Russia. In the last 5 years 18 advanced development zones and 5 free ports have been established in the Russian Far East. Long-term tax exemptions have been provided for large investment projects. Paperless e-visas for visitors of Vladivostok are available for citizens of 18 countries.The results are visible. During the last 3 years over $60 bln of investments have been attracted to 1300 projects in the Far East. The investment growth rate reached 17% in 2017 while the average for Russia was 4,4%. Asian and Pacific countries’ share in Russia’s foreign trade has increased from one fifth in 2013 to one third in 2017. The inflow of foreign direct investment in the Far East has leapfrogged by 15 times and now constitute 30% of all FDIs in Russia.

But how do you join in? There is one comfortable way. The 4th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) will take place on the 11-13th of September 2018 in the city of Vladivostok, with the motto «The Russian Far East: Expanding the Range of Opportunities».

The Forum, launched in 2015, at once became one of the key platforms for Russia, its eastern and western partners for open discussions on the challenges facing the Far East and the world, promotion of edge-cutting technologies and profitable deal-making by attracting investments. The EEF gives the floor to all players — from students, academics and scientists through owners of small and medium enterprises to the CEOs of huge corporations and political leaders. In 2015 the volume of deals concluded amounted to “barely” $20 bln. Last year EEF hosted over 6000 people from over 60 countries. 217 commercial contracts totaling $44bln were signed. That has led to the creation of 70000 jobs at the existing and 35 new enterprises in 2017-2018.

This year we expect up to 7000 participants, expected to sign investment deals for over $60 bln. They will represent countries from all over the world, including China (represented by President Xi Jinping), Japan (represented by PM Shinzo Abe), India, France, UK, Switzerland, US, Canada, South Africa.This year’s Forum will focus on four key areas: economic development through advanced special economic zones and the Free Port of Vladivostok, supporting the priority industries of the region (timber, agriculture, fisheries and mariculture, oil and gas extracting and refining, tourism, port infrastructure, mining and refining35of solid minerals), economic cooperation between Russia’s Far East and the neighboring countries, and improving living conditions in the Russian Far East.Russia’s focus on the Far East corresponds to the global trend of the eastwards shifting of the centre of development. A timely entry will ensure a maximum of profits in the future. Russia is ready to open this window of opportunities to all the actors interested in mutually beneficial partnership. And we will be glad to welcome all the like-minded partners at the forth Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok!

The government amended the provision on the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia10/08/2018 # MinskostokrazvitiyaThe Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation signed a resolution on amending the regulations on the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the development of the Far East. The corresponding document is posted on the official Internet portal of legal information.The amendments update the regulation on the Ministry, adopted by the Government on June 30, 2012. The correction of the situation is related to the clarification of the current regulations and the adoption of new regulatory and legal acts related to the development of the Far East, including the implementation of the Far Eastern hectare program, the functioning of the advanced development territories and the Freeport of Vladivostok.

Strange times are coming at the moment.

More sanctions imposed on Russia by USA. Ruble has fallen to 20 Month low because of the poisoning attack by gas in this country.Few days back the EU put sanctions on building Co's for building a bridge between Crimea and Russia.Water shortage in Crimea because Ukrain has cut the water supply to Crimea.
The Senate in USA is on holidays at the moment until next Month. They have prepared much bigger sanctions for Russia because of the interference in USA elections by Russia.Will they come into force ? Donald Trump has sent a private letter to Putin.
He has invited Putin to USA. The Senators don't like it.
Will Donald Trump attack Iran ? Sanctions on anyone buying Oil from Iran. China says it will continue to buy Oil from Iran. Oil price will go up IMO.
Tit for tat between the USA and China. China imposed a 25% Tax on coal and USA Oil etc.Will any of this help AMC ??
Venezuela is selling its Gold to pay wages of Government workers.
Turkish Lira has fallen like a stone. Country has moreover become a Dictatorship.
Turkey has fallen out with USA.
UK is looking at hard Brexit from EU.

Guys we still have a long road ahead of us 340 KM or there about. Many times when the PFS comes out the share price does not spike.I hope it does for the ones that want to get out. Exciting times after the PFS in AMC's long journey.
The infill drilling will be finished this year,I hope. Then AMC applies with the TOA to the Russians for mine build license. There will be more share dilution because RY tried to borrow $10 Million from River Fort. There will be little money in the kitty after this years drilling season.
The Russian Government may want to know where the finance is coming from to build the mine before they help with the road build, etc.
RY may have arranged finance with the FEDF after the PFS. Only he knows the truth.
We may get a T/O..J/V after the PFS. All to look forward to, but all this takes time.
Patience required here. AIMHO of course. Have a good day.

I think most of us will find it extremely disappointing if the PFS does not produce an NPV between $1.7b - $1.9b.
If we base that on 800 million shares, we get a share price of $2.12 - $2.37,
Or in our money, £1.65 - £1.84 @ current rates.
If we use current share issue of circa 650 mill, then upper end is closer to £2.27 ps.

Remember, many analysts are predicting nickel price of $12 - $14/lb in the (lets use one of RY's favorite terms) very near future.
Nickel inventory trend is moving towards potential shortage of battery grade supply.

The EV revolution has just began, with global commitments to achieve zero vehicle emissions, the transition curve will be like the north face of Everest, this is the biggest investment story since the dotcom era.

All the noise surrounding EV's at the moment is about nickel, a commodity that we have in spades, "Kun-Manie now ranks third among the world's greenfield nickel sulphide deposits."

Yet despite all of the above, the market, who know the price of everything and the value of nothing, have us valued @ a whopping £25 million.
I await with bated breath to see how far Mr Market moves us along the value curve, post PFS, of course, a good funding deal will help immensely. (Hope you're listening RY/ Medea)"

FWIW.
PFS was finished a while back.
Checkout Cowboysteve's post today at 14.20 or there about, on LSE BB.
RPM did finish the PFS.RY wants to include the bigger drilled figures in the PFS.
Also check RPM website there is a link put on by Steve.AMC in Russia PFS finished by RPM. LOL :o).... :o).......:o)

RY played a blinder with River Fort as well.
PFS will be out later this year IMHO, just have to wait a bit.

BHP Billiton are getting bigger in the Nickle arena and if I was in AMC shoes I would explore the possibility of BHP taking over AMC.
