Amryt Pharma: Irish biotechnology firm Amryt has seen its share price double since March as investors piled into pharmaceutical stocks amid the Covid crisis. That trend shows little sign of abating. Amryt develops treatments for rare diseases and is trying to tackle 'butterfly skin' conditions, where the skin blisters easily.

It is awaiting regulatory approval for a promising cream that accelerates wound healing and reduces itching, and has just won US state support to study the genetics of the cause of the condition.

The company, listed on AIM in the UK and Nasdaq in America, recently raised $40million (£30million) in a share placing, so has the firepower to invest for growth. Its shares are currently at £1.89, valuing it at £335million. Far from a safe bet, but a promising prospect.

Bitcoin Madness

Bitcoin goes barmy yet again today. It's hit US$33000 today! Not bad seeing it was only US$3800 just 9 month's ago. I know the US$ is likely to weaken this year, but even so the Bitcoin price is currently way ahead of the game. The US$ may be weak this year, but the Bitcoin price is assuming it's going to perform as badly as the German Mark around 100 years ago, or the more recent collapses in the Venezuela and Zimbabwe currencies. That won't happen. The Bitcoin price is heading for a big fall, but it could go higher in the meantime. Who can know? It's the Dutch tulip bulb bubble repeated, but who can tell when the bubble will burst?

Bitcoin Madness?

The Bitcoin price has gone potty this year. From a low of just US$3,800 in March to today's price of US$27,000. Almost a SEVEN FOLD increase! Amazing! When will the bubble burst? How high will the price go before the bubble bursts?

My only regret? I haven't got any! Though if I had the foresight to buy one (or part of one!) back in March I would have probably sold long before now!

PS. 10 years ago one could buy a Bitcoin for just 10 cents! 10 for a dollar! I doubt if the Dutch tulip bubble of the 17th century recorded that level of price gain

2021 will hopefully see some real progress out of this COVID mess that we’re all in and see some big changes for the AMRYT share price too, upwardly that is!

Thanks for that richpassi. Currently gold and Bitcoin are like the tortoise and the hare. With gold playing the part of tortoise and Bitcoin the hare. Bitcoin is shooting up again this morning after yesterday's big rise. Where will it end up I wonder? Is it a bubble and if so when will it burst?
