I've hedged my holding by shorting it via spreadbet. It's overbought and needs to unwind.

Not an unreasonable bet on reaching 3-350 mr Evil. Got only 2 months of hurricane uncertainty for volatility aside a high probability of materially beating expectations anyway.

Looking great now. Can we take out 250p?

need to close above 240 first. (edit - on decent volume too).

214 is the support following the 13 June hammer. there was also a bullish divergence on the MACD, on 14/17/18 July.

Looks that way, liquid. Breaking out of a base formation. 350p might have been a touch optimistic, 300p+ is perfectly doable.

look like all the directors have bought and sold their options, so not sure if this is now the top....Why would they all sell out? Tax reasons maybe..

Any thoughts

This is a chart of Bermuda-based (London listed) reinsurance firm Alea (ALEA) and this is a link to the discussion thread detailing its demise.

Why mention it here? Because the Chief Financial Officer and boss of its Bermuda operation has jumped ship and is joining Amlin. Could this have a kiss-of-death effect on Amlin share price?

Some snippets from yesterday:

Amlin Bermuda Ltd., a new Bermuda reinsurer established by London insurer Amlin on December 1, has named Stuart MacKellar as managing director.
Mr.MacKellar, who is currently chief financial officer of Alea Bermuda Ltd., said he will join Amlin once Bermuda immigration approval is in hand. Trained as a chartered accountant with BDO Stoy Hayward, Mr.MacKellar moved to Bermuda in 1995 as a senior auditor with KPMG Peat Marwick, Moore Stephens & Butterfield. He joined Alea in 1999 and from 2004 has been CFO and head of the Bermuda operations of Alea (Bermuda) Ltd and Alea Group Holdings (Bermuda) Ltd.

and at Alea: "...The group's Bermuda office, which has up to ten staff, is to remain open while the operations are in run off, according to the company. Stuart MacKellar, who heads the Bermuda operation, is leaving to join new Bermuda reinsurer Amlin. His departure has not been announced by Alea, and there is no word on whether his position will be filled..."

I'm in @ 153.88 and think that a yield of 5.44% is too generous so expect improvement to nearer 200 in the nearish future...best wishes
