08/2/2019 11:02 | Confident interview, I wish he didn't sound so much like Neil Warnock. | mark of the rushes
08/2/2019 10:15 | Lucy, I had an investment with SLP. They have an even larger cash pile, their business struggling to expand with no forward strategy but year on year fail to reward shareholders. No doubt you could list some other companies too but they seem happy to sit on the cash. Maybe they see a bit of kudos having that money in the bank. 4p of our current MC (or thereabouts) is in cash, not to mention our other assets. Not that i'm complaining, great position to be in and no aniexty in relation to raising funds but a dividend policy may be the news that becomes the tipping point in relation to the share price Don't have to implement it though, just announce a policy and delay it year on year. Works for SLP :) | leas1
08/2/2019 10:04 | If they paid just a tiny dividend - which they can afford, then Amerisur becomes accessible to a whole new investor class. The benefits would be much greater than the cost and would be a game changer. I understand this whole cash pile smugness, but it's not like they're going to run out of money. Also, how long do JW and GC want to do this for? They already have more money than they could ever realistically spend living the high life and are clearly driven, but why drive yourself from the office straight to the cemetery? | lucyp00p
08/2/2019 09:46 | Indeed, JP, that war chest + growing production revenues will enable significant [shareholder] value to be generated over the next couple of years. | knackers
08/2/2019 09:25 | JW said the balance sheet [i.e. cash] would be dedicated to the development of their existing blocks. | jp2011
08/2/2019 09:24 | poison pill - if oxy controls pipelines in Ecuador, has a lot of say in drilling the huge amer licences bordering ecuador- they kind of "control" or better said exercise impact over a very substantial part of amer. one can not buy amer without their nod if one wants plain sailing. and so on on videsh very clever move by BOD. | kaos3
08/2/2019 09:11 | as I am filtered - I will take a shot - he sees some posters as his mirror, benchmark etc (those bellow him) - to compare his thoughts and BB contribution vs theirs. and a switch off button is a solution as a result of the mental exercise. probably | kaos3
08/2/2019 09:06 | I think the decision to mobilise a 2nd rig will follow Calao result (no brainer), but they need to prepare for that now as the trap/structures at Calao provide a high CoS [given prolific source, quality of sands etc]. I wouldn't rule out a 3rd rig if Calao a success - in line with say Mariposa. It's at this point the rocket boosters are lit; as the two Indico appraisal drills will also "produce" you could say the commercial case for 3 rigs is robust. By end Sept conservative production net to AMER from just CPO5? What? 5-6,000bopd? High end 6-8,000bopd...more possibly subject to the above. Shaping-up to be quite a year! | knackers
08/2/2019 09:02 | Lucyp00p, You'll have to be more specific ;-) | al101uk
08/2/2019 09:00 | Time to completion is a very creditable 40 days, but some hoping to buy cheap might get caught out, as drill time is 30 days and sure as eggs is eggs they will know at 30 days if not earlier, depending on whether there is an oil column and the extent of any column as they are likely to use DST. | foiledagain
08/2/2019 04:49 | I think having many different prominent partners (latest oxy) is like having small poison pills. and that we will ride from 5 k to 50k alone which makes it a 10 bagger. 6 new holes in a year on cpo5, starting in feb taking 40 days in ideal conditions , considering rig moving, rig maintenance and weather - demand the 2nd rig or a perfection. | kaos3
07/2/2019 21:13 | Filtered. I have no more time for your nonsense | lucyp00p
07/2/2019 20:45 | ongc or ognc videsh is my point ognc videsh might be in agreement with amer on additional rig but need ognc aprooval. so JW goes explaining to the top level? tellingtop ognc whathis friend el presidente wants... | kaos3
07/2/2019 20:32 | Would imagine ONGC-V/JW meet at least once a year, as usually a PSA will have a "Joint Operating Committee" (for want of a better description) to decide exploration plans, work scope and budgets going forwards. AS for OXY, they have been there and done it before - that is (1) having a deep understanding of Putamayo Basin G&G on the Ecuadorian side, (2) finding a lot of oil, (3) building a very large, fields to coast pipeline. All useful skills for a repeat performance. Not 100Kbopd! Very sensible - 50Kbopd will do fine. 50Kbopd without massive debt maybe better than 100Kbopd with massive debts. JW doesn't like debt (a tick in the box from me). DYOR. | xxnjr
07/2/2019 19:55 | behavior, body language: JW glared that oxy has pipeline in ecuador. why is that so important? is it first time for him to meet ocng management in india? and he reacted with this answer when additional rig was mentioned. my interpretation is to plead for the videsh to be allowed the second rig! he said 100.000 bopd not! lol subconscious mind IS thinking so much as a challenge. all imho | kaos3
07/2/2019 19:54 | and the rest FSAw -- could name six left fielders right now who could take out AMER with back pocket money. All six employ their own staff 100% looking for add on. | westmoreland lad
07/2/2019 19:35 | GeoPark got CPo-4 but they want cpo-5 as well now it lookin huge every body every body every body is watchin amer/ongc to see wot they discover that why jw leavin cpo5 owc well all hustie cushti until end of year innit Llanos basin GeoPark is a partner in one of Brazil's largest producing gas fields and is carrying out new oil exploration drilling this year in both Brazil and Argentina, as well as gas development drilling in Chile. But it's in exploring and producing the Llanos Basin in Colombia that the operator has made its biggest strides. "Many believed there was nothing left to find but very small, quickly-declining fields," said Park regarding the Llanos basin, which has been drilled and developed for 70 years. GeoPark entered Colombia in 2012 and, after purchasing two small independents, has become the third largest independent operator in Colombia. The company pioneered a new play type combining structural and stratigraphic traps, targeting the downthrown side of the faults in Llanos 34 Block (Fig. 1). "The block has three principal fault trends, and we have found accumulations on the first two and will explore the third fault trend this year," Park said. The operator has drilled more than 40 wells in Llanos 34 Block since 2012. The block now produces more than 43,000 b/d from nine discovered oilfields. Cumulative 2012-16 production for the block is 35 million bbl (Fig. 2). GeoPark will drill 15-20 additional wells on Llanos 34 Block in 2017, including development, appraisal, and exploration wells. | fsawatcher

07/2/2019 19:14 | I really enjoyed the interview, the interviewer asked the right questions and JW's confidence was high with all questions answered well. The Malcy interview was good but imho Malcy is sycophantic.Happy to keep on being a lth | philwalker36
07/2/2019 18:55 | ONGC VIDESH must need some persuading to go with multiple rigs. Unless of course JW and ONGC have another item for discussion... | davwal
07/2/2019 16:52 | JW is off to India on Friday for weekend meetings with ONGC Videsh. He mentioned that after a question about only having one rig..... Another good nugget "once you have drilled 3 wells on CPO-5 the cash re-cycles and you can drill forever....." also "LS3 is a regional play, and CPO-5 catches it, virtually in it's totality" | xxnjr
07/2/2019 16:40 | I've increased my AMER holding this week, and thought the Proactive interview was a good one. Here's looking forward to the next few months.?? | mr. t
07/2/2019 16:36 | Here's a direct link to the interview: I think ADVFN always sabotage links to other investment sites but not the direct links to youtube | homebrewruss |
