2 private equity outfits = one giant stitchup.

no doubt they will be anonymous and unaccountable.

and of course no mention of any potential conflicts of such anonymous people or any conflicts with Michinoko or anyone else

11_percent it was a Mail on Sunday article:

Mail on Sunday:
Howzat! Clarke waits on £200m Amerisur price rise.
By Jamie Nimmo
THE England cricket team’s World Cup success will no doubt have cheered Giles Clarke, the chairman of AIM-listed Colombian oil firm Amerisur Resources.

As the former chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board, Clarke will have savoured the dramatic victory at Lord’s – most probably with a glass of something expensive (he is something of a wine connoisseur, having built up Majestic Wine). But there are no champagne corks popping yet at Amerisur, which last week put itself up for sale after a year that has seen its share price dive. It has already rejected a £200million approach from French firm Maurel & Prom and claims to have had ‘a number of conversations’ since hoisting the for sale sign.

Rumoured bidders include US firm Occidental Petroleum, which is already Amerisur’s partner on several exploration licences. But City sources tell me that at least two private equity firms have expressed an interest.

No word yet on whether that includes Carlyle, the private equity outfit which has teamed up with ex-BP boss Tony Hayward to hunt for assets in Colombia.

Xxnr the information was in the holdings sm from FIL acting for the french co
Now 58.6m shrs acquired (4.82%)
So even if their bid fails which is a given, (although they may come up with a higher bid) they make on their hdg providing there is another bidder

Of course we all know what's going on..... I do.....Dave down the pub told me he knows a local plumber called Rodney who was fixing a pipe leak at some mans house called Giles in Cardiff who owns a Colombian oil company. He thought he was a drug baron with the amount of brown envelopes he had on the table it was only till he asked he was told that he owns an oil company and rodney told Dave who told me.Apparently Giles said to Rodney this time next year him and his other mate called John will be millionaires.... "we're selling up for no less than 500 pounds a share but I'm taking 90% in cash, the rest as Colombian talcum powder" Make of it what you will but I know Dave and Dave ain't a liar he just has a hearing problem....

Not sure what's worse, being patronised on a free BB, or thinking that somebody out there thinks same bb is a source of valuable insight and information. FWIW, nobody here has a clue what's going on behind the scenes, but it's fun pretending that we do.

Yes please check that you’ve got something pertinent to say before burdening the bb with personal criticisms that add nothing at all.

There seems to be an inverse square law between the number of posts a poster makes per day and the information value of their content. There also appears to be a similar law governing the overall number of posts per day and the information value that they contribute to the sum of knowledge.I sat down to catch up, spent ten minutes scrolling through dross and gave up.Please check that you've got something pertinent to say before burdening the bb with questions that have already been answered, thoughts already aired and thinly disguised ramps and de ramps. Otherwise those that really do have some insight of value just get buried under post after post of dross and really, life's too short to be wasting on it.Q

What percentage do ONGC have of Indico-2 anyone? May not be in their interests to drag there feet too much as if successful I don't think they would want anyone else to get Amer.
