A major worry, given how much stock Management owns, is that they get greedy - and we end up selling to no one imo.

Odds of that?

Happy to hold though. A risk worth taking.

Next bid 23-24p/sh imo.

A bit of excitement over the summer lull doesn't go amiss

Couple of thoughts/queries. Why would GC consider selling the company at what is still the very early stage of what should have been a very busy period of drilling (although we have seen a few years of expected busy drilling periods end up with far less activity than what seemed to be planned) , and has GC sold any of his other companies which could imply a need for cash or an intention to retire? And what about the Paraguay acreage - a back burner holding for so long but one which was thought to be worth a great deal by one of the previous directors (a former BP exploration director if my memory is correct)?
As far as I am concerned it doesn’t make much sense to sell the company at this time and/or at anything less than several times the current share price if what we get is to reflect what the Board has implied it is worth.

PIEP are behind the bid. Indonesian State owned.

The idea they have talked to major shareholders does beg the question, have those major shareholders indulged in actions to deliberately suppress the price prior!

It has all the hallmarks!

Why? As company has said, there are a number of potential bidders and all that has been received so far is a fairly worthless offer.

avsome1968 I'm not going to look back through all the RNS to find it for you but I can assure you it happened and that (at the time) he (Clarke) was not going to sell anymore.

lucyp00p I will desist from engaging in your stuff if you agree to do likewise.

Added a few, doesn’t appear to be a shortage of stock but I don’t have L2 anymore.

34p would be a big rise on today's price fear we might end up a lot lower.

Nice 200k buy at 18.196p first thing, hang on to your shares guys they are happily getting hoovered up.

Aceuk 50p plus how do you work that out ?

AMER are not worth over 650 million yet knock 175 m off be somewhere around there so still a good chance of 100% upside from here if we can get other bids. personally 34-42 more likely which they would take with a couple off perks wink wink.

Not much in that I’m afraid Ace.

A more intriguing question, just how did Mr Market get this company’s valuation SO WRONG?

Blind, ignorant or intended?

poo at the party but reckon some of the larger holders need investigating as to their disposals.

They seem designed to knock back the share price in advance of an approach and as the bidder states they have consulted some major shareholders it stinks a bit.

Who has reduced holding in the major holders?

I can't pretend to understand your lather but are you saying GC transferred shares - in which case there was no consideration, or sold shares at 50p to a family member. These haven't been 50p for donkeys years, so if GC mugged his Granny for 50p per share, it wouldn't surprise me at all. Now excuse me, I'm heading back inside John's pocket.

Anybody here live in John Wardle's pocket?

…. no, I thought not

Firstly there is no guarantee of a sale or anything else

Secondly if you really think Clarke is that greedy, there ain't no way he is going to sell for less than the 50 pence at which he transferred a few (quite a lot to me) shares to a family member some time ago.

Mostly the commentators on here are complete idiots and should not be given air space

Why does Chelverton UK Dividend Trust hold 1.97% of Amerisur, a company that has never paid a dividend? If I was an investor, I'd be having a word.

knackers, Sol-1 could be pivotal and have to say with the passing of time you can only come to the conclusion that it is commercial. Although ONGC have control of operations on the block do you think they could get away with burying good news from AMER?
It could be a tactical move by both parties, sale already agreed but our BoD's trying to flush out s better offer.
You never know we may get the overdue news at a time that helps the share price nudge a little higher when the weak holders have moved on.
All speculative of course but adds a little interest on top of the offer(s)

Talk of eventual t/o price is idle and pointless.

All we know is the following:

1. sum of the parts value substantially more than 17p (lol)
2. Multi parties now engaged
3. Colombia is hot
4. Because of deteriorating security situation- Seaborne trade through Gulf is likely to become increasingly problematic and expensive
5. ONGC are sitting on one of the most important recent discoveries in the Llanos (if not in Colombia)
6. OBA could be worth 6-8p on the SP

Incredibly difficult to value. But I stand by the share price in the range of 20-25p before the final offers are considered.

PS And still there’s no news on Sol-1. Either a dual zone tap or the operator reluctant to share even the most cursory of reservoir pressure/flow results (which, top-tips, will have been pretty evident in the mud mix during ops when the top of the reservoir was perforated)

Ball is in ONGC’s court. Something tells me they’d wished Sol was dry. Not so, and proves prolific natural of the LS. Find a trap find oil. Find a big trap, find a LOT of oil. Drilling CPO5 going fwd is not exactly going to be ‘rocket science’.
