Ramping? I've been in this share since the Chaco days lost a fortune. The old boys know me here. If I was ramping I'd have made a fortune yet lost a fortune instead....

Malcy again....nothing we dont already know:

Amerisur Resources
Following its disclosure on Friday that an unnamed party had showed an interest in its assets and the ensuing strategic review it turns out this morning that the predator is Maurel & Prom. They have made a ‘possible offer’ of 17p a share made up of 12.5p in cash and 4.5p worth of M&P shares. The Amerisur board said that the offer ‘materially undervalued the Company and was not at a level, nor in a form, that merited further consideration’.

The company will continue the strategic review intended to maximise value for shareholders which I take to mean seeing if any of the other players in Colombia such as ONGC, Geopark and sundry P/E operators such as Tony Hayward and Carlisle are interested in parts of the portfolio. It would be nice to think that a derisory offer such as that made by M&P will also be despatched in a similar manner.

Happening very fast at the moment. Surely we cant be sub 20p by midday tomorrow. With all the speculation I'm surprised we're not yet at 25p. 6 potential bidders....it doesn't get any better than that!

Since Stifel Nicolaus Europe Limited has been appointed as joint financial advisor to the Company and they value AMER at 38p, I guess the BOD expects something close to that figure. Otherwise what kind of financial advisors are Stifel?

So that article indicates 6 firms are interested. If that is true then we should be looking at a successful offer which starts with a 5 in front of it. Exciting times....

"....the Board concluded that the Maurel & Prom Possible Offer materially undervalued the Company and was not at a level, nor in a form, that merited further consideration."

just a question of what price removes the "materially undervalues..." part?

20p/25p/30p?? just idle speculation from all on here until we see further news

A bidding war for AIM-listed Amerisur Resources was in full swing today after the oil explorer turned down an offer from Paris-based Maurel & Prom - opening the door to other offers.Colombia-focused Amerisur put itself on the block last week and Maurel & Prom offered 17p per share, valuing the firm at about £210 million. But Amerisur rebuffed the bid, saying: "The board concluded that the offer undervalued the company and was not at a level that merited further consideration."The company said it is now evaluating other offers it has received in a sales process being run by BMO Capital Markets and Stifel. Firms understood to be eyeing up Amerisur include US companies Occidental and GeoPark, India's Oil and Natural Corporation and Canada's Parex Resources - all of which have operations in Colombia. Colombia's Ecopetrol is also believed to be interested as well as former BP chief executive Tony Hayward and private equity firm Carlyle who teamed up in 2017 and have been hunting for assets in Colombia for the past two years. The firm - which is chaired by former ECB chairman Giles Clarke - saw its shares rise 6% or 1p at 17.4p.

SOL-1 update is highly overdue. I understand that it may not be in the interest of ONGC to divulge positive news on SOL-1 if they want to buy AMER's CPO-5 30% stake on the cheap but since AMER are partners, they should know exactly what's going on with their investment, no?! Cannot they ask for an update? So, what are AMER waiting for to publish an update if this is positive?

If news from SOL-1 is negative, ONGC would have published it already to depress AMER's price and get it cheaper, wouldn't they?

Also, if SOL-1 testing is ready, then the oil rig should have moved on to start drilling Indico-2 we were told. Such news would also be good for AMER's share price, would it?

From last years Amerisur London standard article. Hayward mentioned Little-known Amerisur became the largest UK oil producer in Colombia when BP had to sell its assets there to help pay for the Deepwater Horizon disaster - a fact Clarke made a point of mentioning to Tony Hayward, the infamous former BP boss, at a state banquet at Buckingham Palace with Colombia's President Santos in November. "He [Hayward] was looking a little perdu," Clarke adds, with a hint of satisfaction.
