Why would the market assume a much higher bid incoming? The existing offer was pretty much covered on Friday with a bit more today on rebuttal. However, the big spenders will await some real numbers from the official or their unofficial sources on any new bid before getting carried away. They don’t have the emotional involvement of we little flowers...

The 'offer' was only 12p in cash plus 5p in shares so the fact that the market is offering you nearly 18p in cash tells you where it's heading imv

Let's not forget there were competing, and higher offers at the time, for the 4 blocks OXY farmed into. Amerisur went with a lower offer from OXY as they brought more to the table in technical capabilities etc. You can imagine the parties who lost out last time round will be joining the queue.

I am just surprised that given the bid at 17 that should set a floor under the price that the market makers have just let this sit at this level when obviously there will be other interested parties as intimated by the company. The immediate rejection of the M&P bid suggests that the company believes that we are worth more and will see some higher bids in due course. Nothing at all in the price here for any counter bids.

Yes I agree. Multiple parties interested and a derisory offer of 17p rejected. Its a matter of time before we move higher. Seems crazy as a new offer RNS could come at any time. I wasnt expecting an immediate rejection of the M&P offer straight away, but in my view, the actions that the board have taken indicate that they are keen to attract as much interest as possible and get the price as high as possible. It was a very bullish statement released today within the RNS and I think they are fully aware that they are going to get a decent offer, hence the confidence of the RNS.

Upon successful construction and operation of this first appraisal well, the EPC Contract provisions allow for this mandate to be extended for subsequent exploration wells in the CPO‐5 Block."
