Agree Lucy, if the terms of the sale are not acceptable, then it can be split up by the sounds of things because there are multiple parties involved in other assets. If thats in the same asset = possible bidding war, if not, then we could still theoretically sell the full company to multiple different parties. Very exciting times.

A little perplexed that I have been able to pick up more at 14.77p but absolutely happy with that price given this news.

It will be sold in 2 parts. ONGC will bid for CPO5 and OXY the rest. Gran Terra or Shell need to spoil the party.

Also, anyone that has any ISA allowance left, swap your amer holding in today. Any losses on historic positions are yours to keep and any profits tax free.

Amerisur Resources Plc ("Amerisur" or the "Company"), the oil and gas producer and explorer focused on South America (LSE: AMER), announces that following the receipt of interest in the Company and its assets from other industry participants, and in light of the high level of recent activity in the Colombian E&P sector, it has decided to conduct a formal review of the various strategic options available to the Company to maximise value for shareholders.

The bold part is hopefully one of the critical parts of the news. Wish all the long term shareholders here the best for a decent result if there is an actual sale after this announcement.

Absolutely. Directors arent going to want to take a loss and BMO Capital Markets will be trying to drum up other buyers. Happy days. Just sit back and wait for good news.

Not a distressed deal at all. AMER are in the driving seat. Healthy cash balance on top of 1st class assets. Lets hope the BoDs have a good strategy in maximising returns for their investors. Worries me that they have no apparent strategy to grow the company. They have become nothing other than Real Estate Agents.

If we go by previous deals , 60 % is the normal uplift on price , so 18/20 pence , but will they accept.
