Don’t rise to him. He’s clearly shorting and trying to cause a few smaller PIs to panic. He could at least set his ridiculous level at the cash in Amerisur’s bank, which would be 4-5p... This is, in my opinion, the most undervalued oil company, in terms of potential with margin of safety. We could survive a savage oil downturn, whereas a lot of currently popular oil companies with older assets couldn’t. If you want to go and do some reassuring homework, have a look at our partner’s (ONGC and OXY) market caps.

Massively overvalued with current market cap of £170 million they say.

Although malcy's rehash of the RNS said,

"The company has also announced that a workover has been completed on Platanillo-8 to install a selective completion which enables perforation of the lower U sand which can be produced with existing production from the T sand which is now a combined 820 b/d, very impressive. Next stop..."

Yes TGG, it does say 'That interval is producing in a stable manner at 820 BOPD with an expected water cut of 17%.' in the RNS

The interesting thing here is that they have got both 'sands' working in tandem. That's pretty special and looks like they are going to roll out the same approach on other Plat wells. Get both sands working and you get production numbers working more efficiently.

"820bopd from U sand is quite something."

....That's how I read the RNS, malcy was maybe in a rush & seems to have seen it differently

Some good chat over on the LSE board, this from ColonelDrake:

'Not much chatter today on the board regarding Plat but always worth reading again as I often find it focuses the mind when read in isolation.

The interesting thing here is that they have got both 'sands' working in tandem. That's pretty special and looks like they are going to roll out the same approach on other Plat wells. Get both sands working and you get production numbers working more efficiently.

820bopd from U sand is quite something.

Just as an example, had Calao-1x hit oil and matched that of Mariposa-1 with 3000bopd, then AMER's NET take would have been about 900bopd. After a 25% slice (due to tax and well head costs) the NET production would have been closer to 650bopd on a comparable basis to the OBA sale of Plat 8 U sands.

So Plat -8 is indeed better than a Calao-1x discovery in production terms. Not sure how this new workover strategy will effect the reserves but in theory, recovery rates are increasing and that bodes well for Plat licence block.'

Disappointing news today. To have 30m wiped off the market cap on a dud exploration well, which had little or no value attached to it by the market, is galling to say the least. But that's AIM for you. In fairness to John Wardle, he didn't "big up" Calao anyway. He said on Feb 4: "You should never be worried by a dry well. Dry wells happen. They give you a lot of understanding and you move on."

Regarding the likes of Malcy, there was once a time when analysts, brokers and journalists were taken seriously, however that was decades back and nowadays we all know that they're paid by the companies to spout mince just like any AIM chatboard ramper, as such their assessments tend to carry very little weight with the market as people now see it for what it is. Mince.

Having known and met all three main board directors and had several beers with them, I would say JW is top of the trust list, with Nick and Giles not that far behind.

davwal,

"No more though, I can’t now trust JW one iota to be straight with shareholders."

I have been in this for a few months now, and due to todays RNS am a bit underwater. It was a risk I was prepared to take.

I have seen a few say that JW is not to be trusted, and I was wondering why.

Well that's wife's ISA full bargain price with up coming drills, this was valued at 20p with Indico discovery nothing changed in my view 6p reduction on at duster let's get real overdone in my opinion dept free cash lucrative company can you see this being 14p end of year?.
I agree with Lucy they new about the news weeks ago dampened it with the recent upgrades{ more value to AMER}, Management team need to be more forefront with news rather than try soften it we can take bad news that's part of running a company. Add more or hold at this price roll on next drill.
