Really mixed bag of news there:

Clearly a disappointing result at Calao but plenty more (low risk) to go after within the Indico structure. Low exposure for AMER.

Left-of-field news from Plantanillo. Have to say wasn’t expecting that...

Very dynamic picture now, will inevitably mean a slightly less aggressive campaign in CPO5 (for the moment) so potential to accelerate elsewhere; Put-8?

Today 07:25FYI - Stifel Research report:

Calao-1X coming in as a dry well is a disappointment given that the the two previous wells on the block have delivered 120ft and 283ft oil columns. The diagnosis of the failure is that the seismic was interpreted wrongly and there was no trap for the oil to accumulate- which while disappointing, does not invalidate the upside potential on the CPO-5 block. We had a valuation of 0.3p per share risked in our 33p risked NAV (reproduced below):

So whilst a blow it wasn't a huge part of their NAV picture.

The next well on CPO-5 is likely to be Pavo Real-1, with risked/unrisked value of 1.1p/2.3p per share.
1Q19 production has been flagged at c 4.6kb/d, 3kb/d from Platanillo, due to reduced production at CPO-5 while the Calao exploration well was drilled.
As a reminder, Amerisur is spending within cash flow: Assuming $10M per gross CPO-5 well and six wells this year, the net spend to Amerisur's 30% interest in CPO-5 is $15-20M. With a c.$20M outlay planned on the Putumayo assets we see total capex broadly within CF (2019E: $47M), leaving 2019E net cash flat YoY at c.$45-55M

low risk appraisal well at Indico to be drilled in meantime while they refine model.Plat - excellent news, those 3 work in total overs could add 1,500-2000BOPD.

2nd CPO5 rig out of the picture now - and the good news is -

they knew it is a duster and still paid 19mil for 50 %. must be even better game there than I thought. tyler d must be right about good deal already being penned there.

Suspected that we'd see a duster when we had no/slow news and especially after PUT-8 news came out... normal AMER service resumes, a bit of good news to soften the blow of the bad... and now it's a hive of activity on Platanillo again as CPO-5 may not be the all-singing, all-dancing golden goose after all.

Sp to take a hit today, just a question of how bad.
