Several months ago I swore I’d buy no more Amer, since when I’ve added at least three times with the last being only yesterday... Methinks I can’t read this one - period!

No more though, I can’t now trust JW one iota to be straight with shareholders.

Just spoken to NH and the dates have been confirmed as 9th April (day later than I previously said) for results and 14th May for AGM. Please amend your diaries.

Lucy - Not that it matters a jot to anyone -

On 29 June 2004, the Board announced that, having reviewed a number of sectors, they had decided to refocus the Company’s activity on oil and gas exploration. On 28 July 2004, the Company changed its name to Chaco Resources plc from Gold Mines of Sardinia plc following the disposal of its Sardinian gold mining assets to Medoro.

Sorry, that's 25 years ago now. GMS was 1994

Kaos3 - Your point???

Amer started life as GMS (Gold Mines of Sardinia - cash shell) where I first brought a tranche at sub 2p. That then became Chaco Resources which morphed into Amer.

Perhaps we should go into climate change management. Drilling holes to fill with glacier run off might be a lucrative sideline. All Malcy said was that we drilled a dry well which was a punt anyway. Like him, I don't really see the negative impact on production here and with hindsight think the drill should have been into the fairway not into the rough.

The only oil shares I've made money on that he's covered have been HUR & SDX and reason for holding had nothing to do with his coverage!

Aren't his interviews paid for by the company anyway? Hardly going to bite the hand that feeds him.

No idea how malcy comes to this conclusion, "the significant upside for AMER remains hardly diminished by this result."

I have never taken any notice of Malcy. He is just a puppet for the Management. He also said Range Resources had a great future. Their shares are mow suspended and worthless. Follow Macy at your peril !

Malcy's comment (usual positive spin... how long can he justify having AMER in his bucket list of oilers given years of less than stellar performance?):

Amerisur Resources
AMER has announced a drilling update from CPO-5 where the Calao-1X exploration well is dry in the LS3 reservoir, the formation was deeper than prognosis and located in an area without closure. The well could possibly be used for water disposal in the future but for now the next step is a further appraisal well on the Indico structure and it should be noted that this has no impact on current booked CPO-5 reserves.

The company has also announced that a workover has been completed on Platanillo-8 to install a selective completion which enables perforation of the lower U sand which can be produced with existing production from the T sand which is now a combined 820 b/d, very impressive. Next stop is a similar operation on Platanillo-2 followed by Plat-7 and then a new infill well on Plat-26 followed by the re-entry of Plats-22 and 21 to side-track.

Whilst a duster at a wildcat like Calao is disappointing it is not of much significance, I have even just gone back to my recent interview with John Wardle where he describes the location as being a ‘step out’ from Indico in an attempt to define the discovery. There will be likely be at least two appraisal wells and further exploration before the totality of the field is established and the significant upside for AMER remains hardly diminished by this result.

I wonder what's holding the price up today?....could it be a big seller being enabled to exit at a very high price?....surely the game is nearly up here and a re-visit of the November 2018 lows must be on the cards....

I haven't even got a glass any more when it comes to AMER let alone anything in it. It's just such a frustrating share to hold.

Could be months before anything positive (new) happens which has additionally put the mockers on any share price recovery. Not a lot holding Bid up apart from the 230k at 14p.

Wouldn't it be nice to hold an oiler which issues incrementally good news rather 1 step forward, 1 or more back.

You can look at every part of RNS and ask what else they're saying between the lines like "new infill well, Platanillo-26. That well will target an undrained area"... so are they saying the rest have been drained?! Who writes these RNS? I thought they recruited a PR specialist!

..LOL!! Your glass ain't half empty, it's got a big crack in it & a wee hole in the bottom....
