09/8/2017 10:44 | If I were ONGC I would launch a bid yesterday. Perhaps, as a government entity they are not into acquisitions | lucyp00p
09/8/2017 10:41 | That nasty gap down has been closed, but still no buy signal...waiting... M | marnewton
09/8/2017 10:39 | To me it's the fact that two more wells are already in planning. That suggests the operator really is confident of CPO-5 being a bumper reservoir. As to possible AMER shenanigans, I'm more inclined to think GC has worn out his welcome and it's payback time. The mates that pat him on the back now hold a dagger in the other behind their backs. In the end, blowhards are found out - particularly when they've creamed it in on the back of other people's cash. So I don't really expect a cheap takeover unless ONGC decided they wanted 100% of their block plus the rest of AMER. | davwall
09/8/2017 09:51 | Something shifty is going on behind closed doors nothing seems to make the share price reflect the value of the company we will find out I fear but when it's too late. | bryet
09/8/2017 09:48 | rollthedice. You are not right. Long term testing is a requirement for a new discovery, and it is, because its light oil as a result of under drilling in an area of heavy oil, so its exciting. But the benefit of long term testing and why you have to get permission for it, is because in that test the settings of the well are adjusted often on a weekly basis, depending on the data set required. It may shown a good basis for calculating the field reserve, but another benefit of it, is that the oil is sold, so Amerisur don't have to wait for the end of long term testing for oil sales to commence. No one should underestimate the potential of CPO-5 now. It could be a major find, but at the least it looks like a very valuable find. All academic if Amerisur is taken out cheap or an MBO because of skullduggery! That's why we need comment from the BoD. | foiledagain
09/8/2017 09:48 | You're right Tony (that damned upper case 'C', in that case it would be interesting to see where that expectation comes from. Surely it can only come from the guidance of ONGC as the operator. | al101uk
09/8/2017 09:42 | Starting to shift, bought some more today. | broncowarrior
09/8/2017 09:40 | this is just v silly | tsmith2
09/8/2017 09:30 | Al. No. "the Company" according to the definition at the top of the RNS is Amerisur not ONGC. | tonyrelaxes
09/8/2017 09:29 | I'm not complaining. I didn't expect a big price bump as none of the news is new but the price cannot be representative of the value of this company and its massive potential. I doubt there is a bid being "arranged", but if there was I would hope more than one party would be interested. | lucyp00p
09/8/2017 09:29 | The seller returns . We are being played with , but why ?? | trotting12
09/8/2017 09:26 | Eddie, my uninformed thoughts were that we are outside of operational matters. Maybe those with experience will know the usual format/relationship. My query has been in my mind for some time and was now prompted by the apparent pro AMER 'spin' within the RNS and, of course, the irony within JW's "we look forward to updating shareholders on our progress". "our" | tonyrelaxes
09/8/2017 09:19 | Eddie, Took the words right out of my mouth ;-) | al101uk
09/8/2017 09:18 | In the quote "...and once approved, the Company is targeting for the well to come on stream in H2 2017." I think "the company" is ONGC and the new news is that the discovery has been declared commercial. As for Amerisur not being the operator, surely that's a good thing given the negativity I get that everyone is p'ssed off, not exactly happy myself, but we were all demanding an RNS following news yesterday and we got one... now we are complaining that there was nothing new in it... sheesh! | al101uk
09/8/2017 09:10 | Why would that be of concern to us Tony? I am more concerned by the things which are in their control. I would say that it would be a positive for us if they were kept at arms length | eddie_yates
09/8/2017 09:05 | Would AMER have any actual input, involvement in policy and decision forming of what goes on in CPO? Or, other than writing 30% cheques, are we a completely passive partner outside all that and just get to pick up the crumbs of information after events (rather like PIs are treated here!)? | tonyrelaxes
09/8/2017 09:01 | "ONGC Videsh announces that it has encountered exciting result in Mariposa-1" in their RNS of 4th May. Hold back excitement, check pulse and back to sleep then. | itsriskythat
09/8/2017 08:57 | This is amer so we'll do well to end the day blue. I think when the board were encouraged to stop taking options they decided to 'take their ball home' some sort of mbo is on the cards imv | meneither2
09/8/2017 08:56 | To add to that, we were told in March that the acquisitions announced at that time would take up to 120 days to be ratified by the Colombian authorities. Can't find any news - positive or negative - by way of a follow up. | blackdown2
09/8/2017 08:54 | "We continue to be encouraged by the results of Mariposa-1" says John Wardle. What a dull life he must be having in Columbia. | itsriskythat
09/8/2017 08:51 | Is there any new news here? We knew the short term test had come through at a very positive c4.5kbopd. If that's confirmed by long term test AMER will benefit to the tune of 30% of that production (1300-1400bopd) when it gets approval and starts. They say that'll be H2 2017 but they've said a lot of things on targets/timescales which failed to materialise & they're not even the operator so it's unsurprising that share price is pretty static. Show us, prove it, tell us what the lifting and transporting costs and AMER's netback will be and we might get a bit more excited. | rollthedice
09/8/2017 08:48 | news falling on death wars comes to mind.. | tsmith2
09/8/2017 08:32 | Laptop Only fool, a desperate person or someone trying to get the price down for a cheap takeover would be selling at the moment imo | eddie_yates
09/8/2017 08:32 | The previous production target figures didn't include any allowance for COP-5, so far as I recall-only from AMER operated wells. Meanwhile, as I said yesterday, it's like raising the Titanic. To paraphrase Lew Grade's famous quote about his duff film, it would be easier to lower the stock market... | davwal
09/8/2017 08:31 | Probably not much | laptop15 |
