08/3/2021 13:03 | The PE is a bit high and the return on client cash held on deposit has fallen, but that should recover in time - although it may take years. | ochs
08/3/2021 12:26 | Strange as it’s making more cash than ever at the moment. Judged as a reach stock with a high PE? | mrbeaky
08/3/2021 11:45 | I'm looking to buy back in too... what's a good price? Been slipping recently. Ideally I want 370p, but not sure it'll drop that low. | ochs

02/2/2021 11:45 | Back to £4.50, relax and breathe... | saltaire111
01/2/2021 18:13 | Good point well made Supreme. | saltaire111
24/1/2021 21:37 | Yes, Salty but you have to balance their holdings with the Covid-related probability of changes to taxation - my thinking is the possibility of CGT increases. One hopes that the Government will not deter the wealthy so much that they depart overseas as we need the income taxes that they currently pay even more. | supremetwo
24/1/2021 18:06 | I use AJB for my SIPP. Have to say they’ve been superb since day 1 and excellent value for money. I do not begrudge the owners from cashing in some of their holding but I remember they made a big deal at the time of the floatation saying they wanted customers to be able to buy into the company as long term holders. I’d like the directors to be long term holders too! Salty. | saltaire111
22/1/2021 22:39 | As long as the numbers keep going up then so will the share price. The latest rearranged cost structure may not seem like much but it is a large percentage increase. Trading has and will continue to be busy. At the end of the day all investments are (or should be) about income. Hence AJB’s dividend is as good as anyone’s, so hopefully the directors will stop selling once they’ve paid off their mortgages and bought their yachts! I have been with them almost from the start and used to deal personally with Fergus Lyons! Can’t begrudge them some reward - as long as the share price keeps going up above average. | quattro44
22/1/2021 17:01 | Plenty of fund managers and other investors willing to purchase whenever a director sale takes place - the same when it was 350, 400 etc. I'm happy to hold with the price on an upward slope. | supremetwo
22/1/2021 16:44 | Remember AJB was a private company for many years, and most of these Directors will have been granted the shares long before floatation, and hence at 450p or higher they see it as a good opportunity to cash in (which they weren't able to do before flotation or until their lock in periods ended). I don't think there will be a takeover, it's just individual directors cashing in some of their chips. Also despite continually beating expectations, the P/E is still high compared with competitors. | ochs
22/1/2021 16:37 | This is why I cannot understand why they don’t just facilitate a takeover. If they want to sell their shares, sell them to HL or AN Other in one go. | saltaire111
22/1/2021 16:22 | Problem is they still hold a large percentage of the company and are prepared to sell at 450p. Why buy shares now rather than wait till they seem to have stopped selling? | smicker
22/1/2021 15:32 | And that is your answer, Sid etc. Sell on the day of announcements as you know the directors will be doing so as well. Share price goes nowhere because directors are expected to keep selling. And why not, they have been there long enough for their payday, but at least they are pretty transparent and predictable now! | quattro44
22/1/2021 09:29 | Looks like some directors have been offloading again... | mrbeaky
21/1/2021 22:27 | Frustration at charts sideways movement is understandable but hopefully it means when the break higher comes it will be a strong move. | its the oxman
21/1/2021 18:33 | Completely agree with your sentiment there Sid. I just don’t understand why the company’s obvious value and potential isn’t showing through in the share price. I accept that the earnings multiple is high, but the potential is enormous. Put AJB and a HL or Vanguard UK together and think of the value that could be created. This is my largest single investment so I’m holding on knowing that ultimately quality counts. Salty | saltaire111
21/1/2021 17:35 | This is going to sound a little harsh, so I’ll apologise in advance, but I’m a little bit disappointed with AJ Bell and the reluctance of the share price to break forward into decisive new highs. It’s just over 2 years ago now since it floated in a blaze of glory, running up and away to a high of 483p in early May 2019. Since then every single trading update and quarterly figures have exceeded analysts expectations and been received favourably. Yet still the share price fails to break through higher ground, and stubbornly resists and move towards new highs. Just what has this share got to do to win the market over? Let’s hope we see the share price decisively breaching new ground over the next few weeks. Good luck everybody, stay safe, Sid. | eaaxs06
21/1/2021 14:30 | Because they want to load up themselves. Those figures tell the story.Big growth ahead and certainly a take over target moving forward. | robbie1424
21/1/2021 10:49 | Thanks. I guess these forecasts are based on now out of dat data, as today’s results are well ahead of the expectations that the forecasts were built upon. | saltaire111 |
