01/12/2020 14:20 | On balance rising - surprise surprise. Probably still on the cheap side though. They have moved to monthly, rather than quarterly billing, so the SIPP goes from £25 per quarter to £10 per month. ISA goes from £7.50 per quarter to £3.50 per month. I also have accounts with ii, formerly TD Waterhouse. They give you trading credits in return for the fee, which I quite like. I haven't done a proper comparison yet but I doubt the change is enough to prompt me to move anything. | broadgreen
30/11/2020 16:05 | Ha, and is this for the non-advisory direct to consumer part? Plus on balance does it look like fees are rising or dropping? (I don't hold an AJB account) | ochs
30/11/2020 15:12 | Have just been emailed by AJBell to say that some of their charges are being 'revised' from 1-Jan-2021. The message comes from Mr.Cashin - definitely the right person for the job. | broadgreen
30/11/2020 12:55 | It depends how you value the business. If you merge it’s customer base and bring together the admin engines of two companies swimming in the same sea, you could achieve massive synergy savings. AJB’s specialisms compliment HL but I accept AJB would be a great buy for an established overseas business. Who knows, Chinese FS businesses might take a look too. | saltaire111
30/11/2020 11:34 | Thanks, I suspect a more likely buyer of AJB would be a big US firm like BlackRock or Vanguard, rather than HL. My suspicion is that Andy Bell wouldn't want to sell up at any price until he's grown the business for at least another 5 years - at least until he feels he can retire with a job well done. At present with a P/E of over 50 I'm not so sure they should be valued any greater than 450p though. There's a lot of growth to prove already in the current share price. | ochs
30/11/2020 10:16 | He has about 24% of the company. Salty | saltaire111
29/11/2020 13:35 | Ok, and what percentage of the shares does Andy Bell & family own? | ochs
29/11/2020 11:16 | I am convinced AJB is undervalued even at £4.50. It is surely a takeover prospect - I’ve said for a while that it would be a complimentary fit with HL. Or one of the big American firms that wants a ready-made UK platform and higher average investor account values. Vanguard? | saltaire111
27/11/2020 10:49 | More likely funds taking profits to re-invest in virus-affected opportunities. | supremetwo
27/11/2020 10:08 | I'm guessing the slump is due to another batch of early investors soon being released from their flotation lock-in period. | steve73
27/11/2020 09:48 | Just see it as an opportunity to buy a few more like i have done this morning :-) This will over £10 at some point down the road with limited risk compared to other sectors | thedogooder
27/11/2020 08:55 | And there we go again... below £4 again! | saltaire111
23/11/2020 17:35 | Just can’t get through the £4.50 ceiling. If it does, it will be a very strong indicator. | saltaire111
13/11/2020 16:35 | Disappointing slump into the afternoon.. took the shine from a sparking week. Salty | saltaire111
