04/4/2002 13:37 | lmr may be worth a look for a long with results due in a mth. It does move with mkt however. I'm sure it would have performed better in the past if it'd reported in March instead of May. Broker upgrade today - reminding everyone it's undervalued. Spread as ever kills the passion in the loins! | byrdsong
04/4/2002 13:30 | big al spot on-- but the drop will be quick but it will only come on bad news so until we see a pattern leave it. i mean before there results the sunday times sais time to take profits in rexam. that was at 420 before results, if ever a share was going to rise tenpercent after results it was rexam and really low risk. i mean it was consistantly testing new highs in the months b4. anybody who follows upward trends will win lots for low risk. | blackday

04/4/2002 13:26 | as most of the spreadbets use gni, it was gni who started it all off by lowering the margin. but upping the interest rates and lowering the interest on cash balance.it may have the effect of, as speco said a longer rope. but i think gni are trying to make more money on less trades as for using all the margin its not for me. as croc has said on a stock like egs and your short and they have a bid at 10p and you are at full on margin OOOOO sh########### anyone stand a margin call of 100k????? and thats on a 5k cash position | royce
04/4/2002 13:23 | blackday - congratulations. I bought NEW at 53p for my partner, but bailed far too early in December unfortunately. Always had a great chance of coming back a strong cash generator. Easy money has underpinned many retailers in the past year, but once interest rates come up we may well see overstretched household debt put a quick stop to it all. If figures are correct, it may well be very abrupt. As for MKS, I do take the point on highs, but they must be broken first. If not, they produce the tops I'm looking for and I can maximise profits as they tail off. At the end of the day, it's a bet and you win or lose. The good thing on MKS is it's been this high and took a fairly big hit breaking various short term resistance points on the way down before coming back up again. Failing again could be big money!! Risk/reward and all that - but I could be wrong | big al 39
