22/10/2002 08:54 | That's an interesting concept. Let's see, the tank is under the floor and holds 90 cubic metres of compressed air at 300 bar. In an accident, that is going to make one hell of a bang. The driver could be the first person to achieve escape velocity without rocket assistance. Well, bits of him probably would. | jungle jim

05/4/2002 00:48 | CPI fights off the bears once more - they can't get it thru 400. I'm in a short strangle for may with the lower leg at 420 so I'm well pleased. Come on you bulls, bears must be smarting on this one. | tim
05/4/2002 00:48 | big al why is ur money in the make my isa is up 200percent this year thats not bad, better than investing in company isa. just followed upward trends in and out. mainly retail, mining, construction. ive had huge gains in swing trades in permission, new look, marks and spencer, j mowlem, honestly in the last six months i dont lose follow the highs nearly always become new highs. infact the odds are so far in your favour. look at bunxl, easyjet, davis service. sell on a reasonable gain and buy back on weakness. bealfour beatty, dairy crest aga foodservice. its easy money | blackday
05/4/2002 00:45 | Tim,just gone long barc and rbos,looking for a few before close, | ruth
05/4/2002 00:43 | RE BARC - not too late Ruth - I'm long from 2134 and expecting a return to 2170 odd - Dow allowing. | tim
05/4/2002 00:42 | royce i reckon they want to attract new punters AND for existing customers to increase their positions. It won't make a blind bit of difference to me as I never use all my trading capital as margin anyway, but I suppose I could keep less in the account now. | sdawson
05/4/2002 00:40 | royce I completely agree on the margin reductions. Little market movement recently may mean business is tailing off and they are trying to drum up a bit more business. Personally, it will make no difference to me. My only margin call was my ill-timed Dow venture 4 weeks back - I like to keep plenty in the bank as it were! | big al 39
05/4/2002 00:37 | rb5 - thanks for that. Stop at 400 and will probably reverse if it goes. Also hoping to have caught a post upgrade buying spree. Don't know if it will work. As a follower of NEW, I know there has been good news today on various fronts today. Longer term with rates looking north, there must be a limit here. I'm just not sure where it is, but a punt at what appears a long term critical level seems reasonable. Been trying a few different angles to trading recently with poor to mixed success (to be honest!) and this is one of them - short the initial reaction as it were. Maybe Ruth's broker idea of last week will come to fruition and I'll be in the money!! | big al 39
05/4/2002 00:35 | thinking on that re margins on cfds and spreadbets is this to get us to trade more or for bigger amounts. any views??? | royce
05/4/2002 00:35 | Just popping in (day off - painting garage doors). But currently long: ag., bt.a, bvs, cs., sfw short: au., azn, jpr, pym. Also long US: abx short: phm Most of my positions are position/swing trades as don't have time to day-trade normally and up approx 10% in last five weeks (mainly due to good fortune on one particular trade I carried out). | timeliner
05/4/2002 00:32 | richgit yes on margin | royce |
