I'm convinced CMC's margin moves are all about ROPE. The more they give to punters, the faster they hang themselves . . . £5k a/c will buy/sell £100k of shares, not much of a movement needed to wipe you out.

It's great for me - I'll just reduce my capital down again, and spend the difference.

ruth i think that up or down will not mean much and its high risk. but it will be the same or up its more if the dow is +/- so follow the trend.

Like you I normally always take a quick profit but as this is my only position and I have had a good run I think I shall run the position. Have a stop out if it reaches 3460 (that will give me + 24.5).

covered MKS short @ 395 for -5.I expected a sell -off after invetsors cashed in their special shares - it didin't happen & too much risk on the upside prior to next week's trading statement
also covered RR.short @ 184.5 for + 6.5 - badly needed overnight profit
still short ICI

Royce, I'm just day-trading it on past performance. The last few days has risen in the morning and tailed off strongly at close. Will look to go long at £10ish or whatever if it looks good by the close.

ruth, taking out Tuesday's low completes a double top, if the break is sustained I'd expect a drop to 3400 but it doesn't look it is going to be sustained, so more likely back for another go at the 3500 area

With anl looks like we all think a bid then, well its what they want. its lets face it a ship adrift with no direction.so is it just because it looks like a bid and everyone is having a punt???? well it stopped at the 65day and is now past that so next stop is 1035/40 aaaaaaaaa ok small long in the isa, as it pulls back at the end will put a buy order in lower.
